I have recently been apart of a team which has created a flash based piece of software and would love to know what the wider graphics/web/illustration/flash world makes of it. So if you could have a look at the site and leave some feedback that would be great the site is www.alteregos.com/ama.html

And what part of this was created using CoffeeCup software?

The problem, Adam, is people who come here and drop a post with a link back to their site, and that site has nothing to do with CoffeeCup software. That's called spamming, and generally results in the link being removed. If you've created something using CoffeeCup software and want a critique on it, fine, otherwise why are you here?

Adam, I will give you credit for being one of the few who actually reply back at all. Spinny is right, we see so many people who are ONLY trying to get traffic to their site. Perhaps you are one of the few who did not think of it as "spamming", but is a rare thing these days.
That is why your link has not yet been removed. I don't think you offended anyone here, we're used to it ;)

If I'm completely honest about this, I AM LOOKING FOR A SIMILAR PROGRAM. Spam or not, I will be taking a closer look at your flash based avatar program and I'd be happy to get back to you.

How long did it take you to build this program? weeks, months, years?
How many of you worked on the program?
What's your sales projections? (without giving up any trade secrets, of course)
What would you recommend to those of us who may be leaning towards some sort of online business?
Can you share some of your success/failures so we may learn from you....

My point is, if you are willing to share some info on the process, maybe we can leave your link here and see it as a learning opportunity rather than spam?

Take the branch, I'm extending it.

Footnote:
I tend to be more leanient in the "Break Room", and you never know...this could turn out to be a customer looking for a better web building program? (I know, I'm way tooo positive for someone who just lost their job :( )

Adam, I hope you do not mind me asking but did you create the alter egos with a software called Poser/Poser pro? or with Blender?

Just curious as I was planning sometime in the future to purchase Poser or get to know Blender.

Btw for those who are interested in this sort of 3D go to blender.org it is open source software.

Thank you all for the questions back. I;ll start with Cliff Main's questions first.

The software has been created over a number of years but the market for it only really came alive with the likes of youtube/myspace/facebook etc becoming so big and the internet becoming somewhere to showcase your talents or views.

There has been in total 9 people work on this project all with varying skill sets

Sales projections we don't really have any exactly just more of a we have to make this happen etc.

As to starting up a online business I would say go for it. If you can create something with an automated system behind it where you don't really have to do alot bar check for support issues and the odd update what have you got to lose really. I had one friend would creared a site called jobpredictor.com which was just a jokey site that had no real purpose on there, and all he did was put google ads on there. I remember him telling me in one more he made 6k from google ads and he never had to do anything for it.

Hi ad99wd the software does use some poser models as a base but others were made using z brush. They though are just there as a visual, how it all moves and everything else has been created for the software.

I hope this has been helpful for you and thank you again.

Had a look at z brush.. wow.. that is a nice bit of software. I like the idea of what you are offering and the price is certainly affordable for people who otherwise would never be able to have an alter ego avitar. The only problem I feel is that at a certain point too many people will have the same alter ego. I have a few other questions but will do that through your website.
