There is only one way in my opinion, grind, wack it in the expresso, froth some milk and dump milk over the crema and ruin your diet with a liberal sprinkle of dark chocolate. Tip! add a bit of the best instant coffee to the chocolate, makes a Cappuccino to die for.

I drink an incredible amount of coffee, and my LDL was in check last time(about 6 months ago). There's nothing like a mocha with 2 extra shots of espresso to make things happen in the morning. That habit was running me around 300 bucks a month so I finally broke off and thought..well the cappi at the convenience store, and that eventually ended up being 300 a month or more! So I finally broke down and got a coffee maker/espresso/cappi machine, and wow has it paid for itself! The only problem is got me out of the house during the day and gave me short breaks from building websites.

The unfiltered french press stuff was the culprit. I heard that filtered coffee can actually be good for us.

I still need to learn how to make the other treats, like espresso and cappucino, but don't have the $$ for more equipment right now. As for the learning, I was thinking of getting a part time job in Starbucks, to get some training. Not sure if their training is good though, or if everything is just a packaged formula there.

You were BUYING it every morning?! ACK!
Ever read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad"?

I'm just guessing here, but espresso machines may vary on their specs too, like the coffee brewers do? But just for fun ( and everyone should try this ) get an accurate cooking or lab thermometer that can go up to a few hundred degrees, and run a pot of water through your coffee brewer and tell us the temp of it.

I have quite a collection of Melitta pots/filters (and similar). Just found a really cool one (not Melitta) from the 1950s with a 2 part gold filter – keeps the coffee at the bottom of the filter as the water runs through it. For everyday, I've got an electric kettle next to an air-pot with a Melitta cone filter holder that fits on top of it. Keeps the coffee hot for several hours.
I used to work for a coffee roaster and now work part-time at a coffee shop, so I drink it just about every way it comes
Melissa, to add a photo to your post... first, the photo has to be hosted online somewhere (on your site, Flickr, CC Storage...). Photo hosting sites will provide a link code for images, you can also right-click and copy image location. Above the post box click the photo icon. It will put <img> tags in your post. Paste the code between them. Click preview post to make sure it's looking good.

almost got it paintbrush, it's the square brackets though not the arrow brackets, like this [img] and needs an opening and closing one so it would be like this without the spaces between the brackets:

To be honest though the easiest way to do that is to type your link and then press the little picture frame button above your post (2nd button from the left, to the right of the chain icon for links) and it will put the brackets around it for you

My son is the official coffee brewer around hour casa. He can outdo ANY Starbucks out there (even with cheap grind). But for espresso, I do that with a little camp fire espresso gadget that I picked up a number of years ago... Simple but clever gadget, and on a gas fired stove it gets piping hot!!! Love it. Now if I could just figure out how to do the cream designs on top of the cappuccino's

I did try a several wives and that didn't work...a dog? a bird? perhaps a bird dog?[rim shot!]

There's something that makes serious espresso, in a simple manner?
