Hey guys,

I know that Search Engine Optimization is a subject that comes up here and there in the threads, meta tags, naming images etc etc. But experts seem to agree that the MOST important thing in determining a site's search engine ranking is non-reciprocal links. This is because Google figures that if there are a lot of sites willing to link to yours without getting a link back, there must be genuinely useful content on your site.

We seem to have a little network here on Coffee Cup of people who have built sites, many which likely have PR rankings. Is there any reason we couldn't help improve each other's SEO by providing links on pages with similar content to our own?

We can't make them reciprocal, but we could swap a NR link on one particular site for a NR link on a different site. For those of us who only have one site, we could just do it a favor to the person who is trying to build their SEO rank.

I have a Disney related website with a PR of 3. If anyone out there has a Disney/Theme Park/Travel Web site I would appreciate a link. I could, in exchange, provide you a link on one of my other sites...

Hey!

His page rank is zero right now. But I'm not talking about link trading, I'm talking about one way links, that is what increases site PR, not link trading.

Once he gets a PR ranking on his site I'd be happy to trade a link TO my site on http://brazmiatours.com for a link ON my site to another contextually-related site of his if he wants :)

I actually have THREE Disney sites, so we could def work something out.

Chad,

I always just go for SE position and then let the PR fall where it may, but(big but) if you have enough PR, your suggestion can have real substance.:)

add: circumstances that are exceptions where you need good PR(at least for me)..ie. webmaster type sites, possibly electronic sites, and geek sties<<<---the types I like!!!

Being linked to from sites that have high PR is what gets you to the top of the engines.

In my opinion a software's SEO compatibility is one of THE most important aspects of it's functionality. Who cares that you've built the Taj Mahal of web sites if no one ever finds it.

My point. If you're on the front page with a pr 0 and your competitor has a pr 3 on page 10, who's the winner???

add: pr is a function of how web sites interface with the world and has minimal impact(from my experience) of SE position<<--- this can always change.

double add(since I can't edit post), your SE position is effected by optimization of your site(ie keywords, h1 titles, etc.) . I have sites that carry a pr2 and and and sites that carry 1 and 0 that do well. I have one site that consistently ranks on page 1 with most kws and has a pr ZERO.
