Pictures on site not showing after...

The pictures (buttons, images) on my established website are not displaying. I think this is caused by my own computer's system because I haven't changed the website, but because of a persistent, no incessant, Adobe Flash Player message, I have had to turn off my Windows Vista User Account Control.
This was a last resort after trying the Microsoft Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer that was supposed to control this. Other websites display properly for me so far.
The above is just the context of my problem. Is there something I can add or tweak inside the HTML Editor that will activate Shockwave Flash so these pictures will display? Is there some other thing I should add in?
I built this website in Visual Site Designer, but because of changes I had to make outside the designer, I think I have to make all future changes in the CC HTML editor.
This problem will probably not be visible to the standard user, but I need to be able to verify it online.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

Marj can you give us a link so we can have a look?
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Love your kitty picture! It turns out that the problem with my website was just a coincidence. The files folder had been obliterated. I restore the files and now the site is fine. I have contacted the host company to see what they did. Sorry to bother you.
Thanks.
