I started using xampp about a year ago and love it. It installs a apache web server and doesn't use up that much of the CPU. I keep it turned on and when I want to test a page that has php(ie. cc form builder or chat), I just stick it in the folder and open my browser to http://localhost/xampp/myscript and can see it run instantly. If you google xampp or look it up on youtube, you will find more information and tutorials. xampp is opensource and free.

I've just installed xampp and am pretty excited about learning php...

I think I have everything working, but my php scrits don't work through coffeecup. If I open a php file through localhost there's no problem. Do you know if there are some settings I need to change to make it work?
