I have a website that will have two other people working on. Is there any way to install VSD with my website host so we can all be working on the site at different times and not making changes that will affect changes someone else has made.

I don't know if I am making sense. I have VSD but need others to help with parts of the site. Most site building software out there needs to have you host your site with them. My host also offers this but I don't want these other people to have access to my control panel, just this one site.

If anyone knows if this is possible please let me know.

Hi,

There's not really a way of doing this(atleast not on a linux host). You can add editors to your site that use straight html, but then you can't edit in vsd. The best solution is probably for them to get their own vsd and upload the .vnu file when finished. I would also recommend uploading the .vnu and graphics you use in the same folder and when someone downloads that folder, the .vnu file should load the graphics.

Is there any way you could create a 3rd level for the same site..... but with different access id and password so that different things can be stored in different id folders, but all link into the same site? For instance...... your site is called...... www.mysite.com. Your name is "captive"....... your other colleagues are "one" and "two".........
So you create a third level called www.one.mysite.com for which "one" will have his own access credentials...... and a level called www.two.mysite.com for which "two" will have another set of credentials. So you retain those for the main site, and the other two access the other material through their own credentials. You can then link in the various pages to the main site so that it all looks smooth for your visitors.
BUT ...... if the other two have to work on the same pages as one another and as you...... this whole thing falls flat on its face of course!

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
