Hey guys, my mouse is starting to move really slow, and put put .. isn't that a sign of the hd dying?

Can someone recommend some software to transfer HD's. I found some on Google, but i'd like your opinion.

I keep a spare HD all the time :)

You may have a virus that's tying up resources. I would launch the task manager and see what's using memory.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Is this a 'plug in' mouse, or a cordless? May just need batteries. Either way, a 'funky' acting mouse should have nothing to do with the life expectancy of your HD. As Eric suggests, it could be a number of things. You might try downloading and running ccleaner and see if it helps. Just google for it. It's free.

I really don't know guys, it happened when I connected my new Comcast box.

My computer got really slow, and the mouse wouldn't even move.

Eric, I ran task manager but can't understand what i'm looking at. There are so many files that I wouldn't be quite sure which one to remove.

GS, it's a USB plug in mouse, I just bought it lol.

Have you tried rebooting?

Yes, I think it has to do with all of the WiFi in my house. I have a PS4, a cell phone, a tablet, a wireless mouse, and a desktop in my room alone.

It seems that the internet goes really fast, and then poops out and disconnects. Reboots help for about 15 minutes then it all repeats itself.

I asked Comcast if they could send me an adapter to replace the one I purchased from Best Buy, and they said they could not do that.. so i'm looking for a new adapter today, and possibly a wired mouse.

Did you secure your WIFI connection?

Yeah right! Maybe some sneaky neighbour is stealing your bandwidth?

I have at times a desktop, a laptop (both with wi-fi mice and ditto keyboard for the desktop), two tablets and a cell phone in my office, but my wi-fi is secured, so I have never experienced your problem.

One time when my mouse was moving slowly and poorly, it turned out to be that there was much dirt in the optic sensor area. cleaned it out and it started working like a champ. That was after I tried all kinds of solutions as suggested in above entries.

Inger!! Hello there.. I don't think any of my neighbors would take WiFi from me, however the students might!!

Greg, it's a new mouse :) No need to clean off the sensor area.. but that's a good idea..

I have it fixed for now, I had Comcast come out and install a new gateway as well as adjust some settings.

My computer is still sluggish, but this has got to get me through!!

Parents offered to buy me a new one, I said no.. shame on me.. I just love this one because I built it myself !!

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
