Hi everyone!

I just wanted to pop in & say hi......

and to ask for more help:)

I know this new issue I'm having has nothing to do with CoffeeCup software, but I also know that there are some great tech people on here & I'm hoping someone can help:)

Over the past couple of days I've noticed that when I open FireFox, it takes it a couple of seconds to fully load the page (my homepage is set for Yahoo email log in). I use RoboForm & have the toolbar installed. I've been using RoboForm for quite some time so I'm pretty sure that's not the prob.

So the prob is, I'll be doing my usual surfing, then FireFox will freeze up for about 10 seconds, maybe a bit less, sometimes a bit more, then I get this window that pops up:

I have noooooooo idea what all that is about, but I did a brief search on it and thought maybe it has something to do with addons? So I took a screen shot of my addons:

******OMG FireFox JUST froze and I got that same popup window***********

Can anyone offer any help on this one? I'm so confused.

Thanks so much :)

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that I also use a thing called MultirowBookmarksToolbar 4.3.

The reason I'm mentioning this is because every time I open FireFox, FireFox will kind of freeze up for a few seconds & some of the multirow toolbar rows don't show up until FireFox unfreezes.

Does that make any sense? LOL
I had Multirowbookmarks toolbar set to show 5 rows of bookmarks, but I just changed it to 3. I'm sure that won't fix the prob though, just thought I'd throw that in there:)

I don't recognise your error message, and I don't know any of the FF add-ons you are using, bu one thought:

Disable all the addons and that bookmark toolbar, and then you switch them on one by one until you find the culprit. You have to open your homepage between every add-on that you switch back on.

You could also provide an URL to the site in question, so that we could open it and see if the same thing happens to us.

Inger Eik,

Thanks for the fast reply!

I don't think the prob was w/my addons. I can't be sure, but I found a program that was running & I closed it. It was something with Nielson Homescan or something, some kind of program that monitors my internet activity. I recently signed up for that & it runs all the time. So I clicked Ctrl, Alt & Del and ended that process and so far I haven't had any probs w/FireFox.

Oh, btw, it wasn't any one particular site that was causing a prob. It was random. So I'm hoping the prob is solved now that I've closed that Nielson software.

Thanks so much for the help!

Have a great day!

Hi
Try update your java plugins. I compared with mine and yours are an older version. I use Firefox also.
Hope it solves your problem...

Jimmy,

That sounds like a fab idea....but...how do I do that? LOL!

When I go to Tools, Addons, Plugins, I see 2 different Java things. When I click on either one, there is no "update" button.

Thanks...I'm a bit of an airhead when it comes to all this tech stuff:)

Amelia, make sure to check your processes and programs running after you do a reboot. If it was running before, it could be spyware that will just turn itself back on again so you may need to scan and get rid of it to make it stop loading. Could be something not so dangerous just computer slowing for the most part since it was running all the time. Anyways, check on that after a reboot to see if it's there again so you know if you need to take further action on it or not :)

Hi Amelia
Some months ago I had a problem with a product called Nielson online. It caused my PC to run slow and freeze on occasions. I ditched the product and problem went away. This may be be same Nielson product you have on your PC, I don't know but suggest you remove it and see if problem is resolved.
