About Scott: I got a dumb response about not knowing what an installer is and I submitted a feature request on double clicking the installer again after the software is installed to say where it says uninstall, repair, or cancel after the software is installed. I told Scott that I knew that you could install it in the control panel. Scott never said that they did not understand. I even showed them a picture example. Scott could never even say that we are looking into this or we are not doing this. Coffee Cup does not even update all of the software installers or have it where it updates all of the software automatically. You do not even get a dialog saying that your software has been updated in the software. I think Scott just wants the money and is being lazy lazy. Worst of all,Scott is a head developer. They need to get real people on support and not some know it all developer.

Hi Ralph

You havent been around for long huh?

Did you not realise CC software dosent update auto? - i think thats been discussed around here plenty of times and the general consensus is that we'd prefer free upgrades to fancy pay lots ones like microsoft ;)

And apart from the auto updates bit - i'd have to say i dont know what you're talking about either :/

If you need to find your free updates they're up top on your support button :D

He said that the html editor auto updates. I have had quite a bit of software with coffee cup for a few years. Paid software.

Well, he deleted quite a bit of the ticket. I meant to say that the software uninstalls in the control panel. He closed the ticket twice.

Very surprised by your comments, I've interacted via email with Scott a few times, very professional, knows his stuff.

I've also had support tickets raised and dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

I'm sure they will sort out your issue

All I can say is keep up the good work CoffeeCup

Ralph, I find it hard to believe you have any problems with coffee cup or indeed with Scott. I have had a few questions and each was addressed and not closed until I had closed them!

I use a lot of different software and one that I use just cost me over A$600 for the upgrade which I had no option but to get to continue to support a couple of my sites. I have to pay support tickets for this software everytime I have a problem even if it is a bug! This is software that I am hoping to replace with shopping cart pro when it is released. I own most of the coffee cup range and love the fact that I get free upgrades as

a rule. I am happy paying for the upgrade to shopping cart pro realising that this is a new product. Most products require a payed upgrade once they change version number.

I guess you are free to move to some other software and not use coffee cup, but I doubt if you can find as well supported software at the price! If you do then please let us know :)

Cheers
Jeff

Man. Nevermind the ticket was open the whole time..I feel like an idiot..I must be shot for real...I couldn't keep track of the tickets. I am quite tired and stressed out lately anyways. I am very sorry for what I said.

Thank God. :D

I really do feel quite bad about it for jumping the gun like that.

I lost my furniture and lost my health insurance and a lot of other stuff has been going on..so I am not quite thrilled about anything very much.

While we'd all love to have auto-updates and installers do upgrades rather than uninstall/reinstalls, it's not a deal breaker. If the software makes our design world easier, we'll deal w/ reinstalls. I download a ton of freeware and open source apps and most do not ask to repair or uninstall when running setup.exe. Maybe a big guy like MS Office. And many many of them say previous versions must be uninstalled prior to upgrading (which is basically doing a full install again). But of course, there's nothing wrong in requesting such a feature as it'd only make CoffeeCup's greatness even better. I didn't quite read out of the original response what Scott necessarily did (says more of what he didn't do) to be called out in this manner, but you could try voicing your opinion to: headhoncho@coffeecup.com (no joke). I, personally, appreciate how down to earth and very accessible he is. The lazier and/or godly ones don't have 10,000+ posts in a forum.
