Hello everyone, i have a domain name that is useless for me and i would like to sell it. Does anyone know the best way to do it? Where to do it? The best price to do it? Is it legal? Thanks for the replies :)

Its very hard to sell a domain name. I have a large amount of domain names and when I don't need one I just let it expire (after a year).

It is legal.

Depending on how coveted your domain name is domain names can see for thousands. But, for us every day folks who buy and resell or just resell, its typically 10-15 dollars. The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

I seem to remember a company called Sedo that will sell your domain name for you.

As Eric has already pointed out though, unless you have a unique (and wanted) domain name that is worth significantly more than a typical $15 price, it's best just to let it expire.
Multi tasking is a way of life for me, contrary to whatever my girlfriend may say. :-)

If it's not a matter of money, and if it's not something you're going to make more than 10 bucks on, why not keep it as a play domain? I just bought a few 79 cent .info domains with a friends (split a 6 pack to get the low price lol) so we can have places to play around with and setup bogus shops and learn new types of systems and coding etc. This way you have a place to play other than your main domain(s). Just another thought :)

BTW Godaddy is having a sale on .info's right now if anyone needs website play space :) .79 cents I believe still. Jo Ann

Dave, I can't see the new domains being of any significance. The most valuable ones will be the original .coms, but selling domain names is a losing battle. The market just isn't there.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
