Any plans to incorporate the USPS Web Tools into the shopping cart in the future?

That wouldn't be the same USPS that supplies tracking for its international parcel services, that never actually works would it? :) Two weeks later it still says 'we don't have any details for that package yet', even when said package is sitting on my doorstep in Europe.

Thanks Will, I needed that bit of information. I've never had a problem with my few international shipments until last month. As I'm at a market at the AVI Casino in Laughlin, NV, I posted a packaging from here to England. After 2 1/2 weeks the USPS says the package was not logged into their system. I couldn't get the USPS CS person to say if that meant the package was lost or that no postal worker bothered to log it in. I've checked the casino and the package made it out of here and is now in USPS international limbo. Given your post, I won't panic yet.

USPS service to Europe is around six to ten days Sally, then you have another two to five days to clear the customs process, dependant on the item value and to which country in Europe it has gone to.

I have two Stateside suppliers, so regularly have items that that originate via the USPS. The online tracking ALWAYS states it doesn't have details, even though the tracking email itself originates from USPS? Still says the same every time, even after the parcel has been delivered and unpacked. Am truly glad that I don't have to depend on them myself.... :|

Yeah, I've ordered several items online that came USPS (all strictly domestic) and not once has the tracking feature been useful. In two different cases I even subscribed to be sent a text message when there was a status change...in both cases the first text I got came well after delivery.

UPS, on the other hand, is great about keeping package status updated.

No tracking. It is module that just displays shipping charges for various methods of delivery based on the total weight of the products in the shopping basket based on delivery zip code. No fuss, buyer selects items and method of delivery and the cart does the rest. All you do is enter product weights into the cart.

In the UK, all small packages are sent out to anywhere within the UK and it's surrounding territories at the same rate for given weight bands, so regular weight based shipping covers that. In that context, a postcode (zipcode) is of little benefit to us folks on this side of the pond.

My shipping is set up as UK only, Europe and Rest of world. Those three bands relate directly to Royal Mail's postal destination bands, so whatever cart product I use, shipping is always easy to set up. :)

Regarding the upcoming Pro Version of SC, has anyone heard how the transfer will take place from the old cart to the new one. The reason I ask is because I currently have a fairly large cart for a client, which of course in the current version means quite a few pages, with quite a lot of products on each page (way way too many in fact). How easy will it be for me to create sub-categories in the new cart with my already existing categories that I have yet to break down into sub-categories. I am afraid that after I get this huge cart done, the new version will be out and I will have to redo everything because now the pro version has sub-categories.

Does this make any sense? Should I keep adding products or should I stop, until the pro?

Just open your shop and save. It is that easy ;)

Adding sub-categories will be handled the same way a category is. Simply click on the category and you can then add a sub-category. You can then move your products into that new area.
