I need this option. Being a caterer, I want my customers to order online with c.o.d. option as payment.
It never occured to me the software wouldn't do "Print this and mail your check with this form" type of payment. I assumed all of them started with that and then added other options. I even have customers that stop by to pickup and pay cash.
Definitely a needed option.

I dont know if you realize this. But this is a PAYPAL/GOOGLE CHECK OUT shopping cart. Creditcard and Paypal transaction gateway. If you want someone to be able to order COD or PTP create a contact form in the coffeecup form creator. since its primary function isn't a payment gate way like the shopping cart. The php script can only do so much with so many options.
I have seen C.O.D options of other carts like Zen. However, I would prefer to see this option on Coffeecup Shopping Cart because of its simplicity.
Coffeecup form creator can also be used as C.O.D. order form BUT only if it will do online calculations of total order.

Regarding offline payments with credit card numbers, if you can integrate some sort of Open PGP standard, the orders can be encrypted and emailed to the owner who decrypts it on his/her end.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Looking at the shop cart as well.
I'd like an offline payment options as well.
1. Pay by check - simple check box with a dialog to say how to mail the check etc.
2. Pay by credit card - merchant enter numbers. Many use credit card merchants and I see no way to have CC integrate them all.
CC could do what Zen Cart does. The customer enters the credit card info online, in a https page. The system saves the 1st 4 and last 4 of the card number. Exp. date and saves the CID # as well. Then a separate email sends the middle 8 numbers. The shop cart never has the 8 numbers stored in the data base.
The merchant enters the credit card number using the stored numbers and emailed numbers.
I believe this was not very technical to write.
Simple and works perfect.
I can not use CC shopcart because I do not use Google or Paypal. I found many do not like Paypal and having someone use Google was just as resistant. People want to use their own credit card and not 3rd party payment company.
I'll wait for maybe an update

And for my business, which is a catering business. Many of my customers want to pay Cash on Delivery (C.O.D). They would be using the "add to cart" feature and then upon check out, is where they have a choice if they want to pay by either by:
Credit Card
PayPal
C.O.D.
If they choose C.O.D, the orders will just be emailed to me and without them putting the credit card numbers. All I get in the email is the their name, delivery information, phone number, email. etc. except credit card infor because C.O.D. doesn't require them. I think C.O.D. option can be done. If Zen can do it, I am sure CoffeeCup can.

CoffeeCup has not/is not saying that they cannot do this or won't do this. They have said this is on the list to be addressed AFTER a few pressing issues get resolved (ie. Tax Computation).
Yes, it seems that adding an option for COD would be easy (and maybe it will be) but as much as I would love to see this as an option I'd rather they ensure that they resolve the tax situation, and any known bugs first.

Living the dream, stocking the cream
I agree, while it would be nice to have it now... it's at the bottom of my list. Two issues are keeping me from using the store right now, taxes and being able to easily create/link to policy, contact us etc... pages. While I know someone can edit the theme and customize it... it would be much easier to just have it integrated. Besides... if I wanted to learn how then expend the time and effort to create a new theme or build my own pages... well at some point what's the point of using such an easy shopping cart software?
The COD would be very helpful but it will not stop me from setting up the store. Tax and not having polices will stop me.

Well ... as much as I hate using and setting up Zen, due to the nature of my business, I guess I have no choice. I'll sign off from CC cart for now but I'll just keep checking for the latest updates on COD. Thanks guys.
