We did a bit of a house cleaning and removed the snippets that were not fully compatible with all browsers. If you have not been over to http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/html-ed … -the-love/ yet, check out some of the snippets created by other users.

Major kudos on the latest release! I haven't used the editor in my workflow for some time now as I always felt it was a bit sluggish. This latest release flies and it might just have me opening up my pc laptop a bit more often. My only wish is that an SDK was available that would allow for third party plugins/extensions. I know, probably a bit out of scope, just a wish and thought. Again, kudos on the latest release!

We've given that some thought. What types of plugins/extensions would you like to see?

Where has the "quick link to relative file" and "link to open file" gone?
It was in the links drop down menu in 2008. I found it to be a great shortcut.

Yes that was removed from the editor. We had found that a good majority of our users did not use it. Since we were streamlining the software to make it even easier to use, we removed some lesser used functions.

Then again Scott some people used it 95% of the time. It was so easy just to right click on the page and insert a relative link.

Every one of my pages contain links to a profile page, a previous game or a preview that exists within my Working Folder and that linking was so easy to achieve using right click. With thousands of pages existing already and around 5 new ones created every day this is going to be a nightmare.

Now I have no way of doing it. It wouldn't take much to have it back would it? please...

Curious minds want to know how would you find this out? Are you in my computer? Right now?? :)

We know everything!!! :) Actually we get this from a lot of our beta testers. A good majority of them never used that feature at all or did not even know it was there. The functionality is still there. On the My Computer tab or My Websites tab, just double-click on a file and it will automatically insert the link for you.

Just found this answer after posting above.

No it doesn't Scott.

If you have an existing page open and you highlight a word you want linked, then double click the file you want it linked to, it just opens that file in a new page.

Instead if you right click the file you need you will see, at the top, the command: Insert as Link into Current Document

Do that and your word/phrase is linked correctly.

I suppose I'll just have to re-think the way I've been doing things for the last ten years.

We have already added it back into the software and it will be ready for download in the next few days.

Amazing heh? :)

You're a good 'un. Will this be a full re-install or just an .exe that will install the missing files?

The following may be known but I discovered it by accident. I had been adding flash items to pages, Testing by uploading to web site. Discovered that web preview tab gave me test OK (Flash menu).
Maybe a tips and tricks could be in order.

I just uploaded a new version of the HTML Editor that contains a few changes/enhancements and features:

What you will find in Build 303:
  • When creating a CSS Menu, you are no longer forced to insert the code into your document.
  • Quick link to document and relative file options back.
  • Corrected some issues with code completion inaccuracies.
  • Added Website Spider to the Tools Menu
  • Corrected issue where uppercase umlauts were converted to lower case in search for undocumented characters.
  • Modified the HTML code inserted from the "New From Blank Page" for HTML 4.01 Strict and Transitional.
  • Added a few tweaks to the Projects FTP settings area.

To download this upgrade, go to: http://www.coffeecup.com/help/myorders/

Enjoy!
