A change in policy that was advertised to all. No hiding that they made a business decision. This is still a very unique company that seems more like a close friend.

let me put it like this you buy a plan for UNLIMITED space on company to store your back ups, but once you start uploading a lot of projects they come and tell you that you no longer are allowed to upload all that stuff you want to your back up server, because now they charge for every MB you upload and charge twice for the downloads (after all when you need the downloads is because you lost something that you really need).... they are still doing what they agreed to do, but they will charge you MORE for it...

I am quite sure that if I request a refund of all I paid for the softwares that now they give away for free I would never receive it (well I got most of my softwares "for free" because of the blue domino deal)... well they can change their policy, BUT FOR NEW COSTUMERS... from now on there will be no more free updates FOR NEW COSTUMERS... as the old costumers would still be willing to buy more from CC if they know that they will continue to get what they paid for: FREE LIFE TIME UPGRADES AND UPDATES...

I am sure that many will agree... and many won't... but that is how I think... and enough to the fact that they changed a lot of the software's name's that I bought so that they would charge more for it... make a new software, and leave the old one with the bugs it had... or simply fix those bugs and DISCONTINUE the software...

And no matter your opinion, express it in a polite or at least reasonably polite manner and it will not be taken down nor will you be banned. Every opinion counts and sometimes it's even surprising what CC will listen to.

Just keep in mind, we do not work for CoffeeCup. This is a users forum and we are all users just like you. Occasionally a CoffeeCup rep like Scott will monitor the forums just to see what users are talking about. I think they get a lot of their ideas for new stuff that way! But on the whole, we all go through the same things you do. We all had to deal with the loss of the free upgrades, but times change and small companies just have to make a profit or they will vanish.

On the whole CoffeeCup puts out fantastic software and I cannot think of any place where you can get better support. Not to mention all the help you can get from users of this forum. Just be nice, and we'll all be nice back!

Spoken like a champ Gunsmoke! I totally agree with you here. I challenge you to find better customer support anywhere on this planet. And I am not just saying that, it is true because i have dealt with a lot of software vendors including one today as a matter of fact.

When I have an issue with anything that CC offers they almost instantly deal with it. This morning I sent emails to 2 different venders, WOW Slider and Visual Lightbox for support on their software. I still not have heard back from them! But guess what??? Coffeecup directly involved them selves in a problem that wasn't even theirs really and fixed the issue!

Now if that's not worth the 20 dollars here or 60 dollars there for an upgraded, usually a total re-write of the program, then nothing is.

I promise you this. I will be a loyal CC customer and although everyone has a right to their opinion doesn't necessarily make it a fair one.

Is Visual Lightbox and Wow not the same company Steve? Whatever your dead right, there's not many better for customer support. The only people that I have that's on a par is my hosting people.

No! Actually they are not. Visual Lightbox comes from Apycom Software and WowSlider comes from WowSlider.com. Now, Apycom makes several apps including the CSS Menu and several others and I think cut a deal with WOW Slider to include that in a package deal they offer from time to time. I'd have to did deeper but I don't think Apycom actually owns Wow Slider.

Actually they are by the same company. There are about a dozen different software titles that the company puts out. The company setups for their sites is pretty radical since they don't have one that encompasses all of their software which I wish they would do, but they are developed by the same company (via Apycom which is the main company behind them all) and distributed through Avangate portals.

Here is proof that not all Software companies respond and support their customers like CC does. Regarding earlier post I did email both support mailboxes with this issue. I have only heard back from one and here is what they had to say.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your interest in our products.
Sorry, we don't support the changing code.

That's crackers Steve, your dead right, that's such a generic answer it could be for anything, we need more than that when we have a question.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
