I love the Projects setup myself, very reminiscent of Dream Weaver MX which is the version I stopped at. I used to love that about that program and missed it with the HTML Editor so it's a nice thing for me. Easy to setup too even with existing sites. Since I kept my sites pretty much in the same area to start with I just made that are the projects area and inserted my already created sites into the projects which was pretty easy to do.

Thanks, Jo Ann -- think I'll look into this. I already have a "websites" folder in which each website exists in a sub-folder that matches the domain name for the site. And each one has a set of similar sub-folders in which certain types of files live.

For example:

sitehome/images/jpegs
sitehome/images/png/resized
sitehome/sounds/mp3
sitehome/videoarchive/insiders

This is a very orderly way of keeping things. If I can import this structure into the CC HTML Editor's project scheme without having to make a lot of changes, that would be great. (and would probably simplify uploading multiple files when updates are made to the sites. But if I have to reduce the file structure to make this work, I probably won't do it.

I'll certainly consider using projects on newly-created sites, though...

Yep if the "sitehome" all goes to one site then you're all set, you don't have to change any structure at all then.

What I did is I have

Website Projects
.....sitename 1
..........all the files for this site
.....sitename 2
..........all the files for this site

and so on, so all the sites I work on are inside a Website Projects (you can name this whatever you want of course) folder. Each project is then just setup within HTML Editor and pointed to the location of each site's folders. Very easy to do and yes very handy since you don't have to really navigate far to get to them, click the Icon on the My Websites tab, choose All Website Projects and then choose the site you want to work on and walllah it changes to that project just like that!

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
