i am a new user of the html editor trial version, and a former user of namo.
when working on an html page in visual editor, if i select a paragraph, then make "control + enter" or menu format/paragraph, the whole selected paragraph disappears! so no way to change the rules of the paragraph.
what should i do?
thank you for your help.

This one another problem find by you. we use to do in Namo different way

<p align="right" style="line-height:100%; margin-top:0; margin-right:1; margin-bottom:0; margin-left:1;">.</p>

But then in CCHTML ??????

I personally not happy with CoffeeCup HTML Editor which just recently bought it,

Honestly for my requirements some free html editors was better off , anyway I was influenced by a friend , I do have Namo 2006 and way better than CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2009.

Some very quick differences :

1- In my case I can type in Namo none English characters but I can't do that with CoffeeCup HTML .

2- I can select object on edit mood and see the highlighted codes in code editor with Namo and I can not do that with CC.

I owned Coffee cup form builder and I am very happy with it. But I made a mistake with their HTML Editor.

The only thing I I like about CC HTML Editor is their CSS Menu Designer.

Anyway you can try for 30 days and see if it is for you. In my opinion Namo 2006 much better off than CC HTML 2009.

thank you, mansour, for your feedback. also the ftp uploading in namo is very convenient, by finding directly and automatically the server destination file place. i would be happy if i could also get the feedback of a coffeecup team member concerning the problem i have noted here.

The problem here is when you are hitting enter while text is selected, it will delete what you have highlighted. Instead, click just to the left of the first letter and then hit the enter key.

Scott is correct there; by doing what you are doing you are wiping one block of text with your new (empty) input.

I too used Namo for many years and while it was good, their customer support is absolute crap. They don't monitor any of the forums, their replies to support questions are lame and as a company they treat their loyal users like worthless peons. As for the editor, it is unstable, the feature set hasn't changed since version 4 and the editor messes with the code in unpredictable and absurd ways, breaking even simple JavaScript and asp code with no way of preventing it doing that. As a beta tester for them for many years, I (along with some very good people I met in their forums) waited with baited breath for the 2008 version and when it was released I was bitterly disappointed. Not because they didn't have the good graces to gift me a copy of it for the hard work I put into it (as they did for only three of the dozen beta testers) but because they hadn't fixed any of the show-stopping bugs we reported or added any of the features we had been asking for for years. They simply changed the toolbars and had the cheek to charge for the upgrade. I chucked it in because they are simply a terrible company with a crap product.

If you like it so much, then go back and use it. Why did you want to change in the first place? Why come here and bemoan the fact it is different? I have to be honest and say I don't use CCHE as my primary editor; this is not because it doesn't work properly or has too many bugs, it is simply because the editor I do use I purchased first and has exactly what I need and does things the way I want it to. I use CCHE every now and then to do things my existing editor cannot do.

All editors do things differently or they may as well be the same thing; sadly Mansour you didn't look before you leapt. I'm sure if you asked really nicely the people there might give you your money back since you are so obviously unhappy with it you have to mention it in every second post. However, they are unlikely to if you keep whinging on about it. If the shortcut you used in Namo does something else in this editor, why not just learn how it is done in this one and move on? Did you think that all other software makers would look at how Namo did things and make all their sortcuts and features the same?

Namo's editor is a WYSISYG editor and while CCHE has this feature, it is primarily for hand coding (the visual tab was only added a few years ago). All WYSIWYG editors are going to mess with code, even to the extent of using non-compliant code to achieve the whims of the user. The thing with hand-coding is that you learn what is good and what is not; many visual editors will do things that shouldn't be done, which is why the sites often break when viewing in different browsers.

Sorry for the long reply and rant but honestly, if you don't like it, don't use it. It is all very well asking for features to be added but if all you want to do is recreate Namo Web Editor, then what is the point? Ditching Web Editor was the best thing I did, not only for the reasons I outlined but for the fact I couldn't find a suitable WYSIWYG editor and was virtually forced to learn html and CSS as a result. Now my sites are far better for it and I can see Namo's editor for what it was. Just watch; Namo will eventually release their next version and it will be exactly the same as the old one with some new icons - Malibu Stacey with a new hat. Not for me thanks.

thank you very much, scott, for your advise. i just realize now that the command format/paragraph is just for creating a new paragraph. i thought it should open a window for modifying the aspect of the whole paragraph. i did not find such a command.

thank you, dave, for your excellent report. if i try another html editor than namo, it means i don't appreciate something in namo, and it is the same point than you. they have no more support, their website and software sound dead, like if they have given up their project. and, in contrary, the community here around coffeecup is really great!

so i continue to try using cchm and will see.

would it be possible, one day, to get within cchm a precise upload function which finds directly the place to upload a file?

@Dave

Please do not misunderstand me, I am not asking for money back, since it's free upgrade for life then maybe in future they will add some features that I will start liking it. and not that I dislike it 100%.

I have dreamweaver MX and it's lack of CSS 2 then I jumped to Namo and from Namo I am here As exactly what jeans says if i try another html editor other than namo, it means I don't like something about Namo too and that why I am here .

A friend of mine here use CCHTML and very positive , and yes you are right every editor has different approach toward coding and I actually was not looking for Code editor as I get Carpal tunnel syndrome recently in my hands because of too much working on computer so now I want quick result As I was not really aware of CCHTML's Visual Editor and I bought after 2nd day of trial, honestly I am tired of coding, as I use to put my weight on my elbow while working and that's side effect I got it.

I even tried few WYSIWYG Website creator including CCVSD, they are too novice for me.

Mansour

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I too suffer from overuse syndromes (though not badly as I was very aware of it and took steps to minimise the impact computing has on my hands). If you are still looking for an editor, you won't find many WYSIWYG editors that are 'not novice' for you. Of all of them , the only one I know is Expression Web 3; it is excellent and very advanced and has a WYSIWYG interface so that may be worth a look (probably expensive though). I use Blumentals WeBuilder (sorry CC guys, I am not plugging it, honest) and it fulfils 90% of what I need. I use CCHTML for the 10% WB can't do, though I often find myself just carrying on as usual when using CCHTML without going back to the other one.

I would try Expression Web 3 and see how you like it (if you haven't already) as it may suit what you want to do.

Yes thank you I am aware of Expression Web since version 1, in fact I got Expression Web 1 for free . I will give a try to version 3 and see what is new . The price turns me off but in other hand it comes with 2 other program for victor / image editor and web video encoder.

Style Master http://westciv.com/ This really good as I am moving to do more with CSS and div base web.

Just waiting for version 5 to avoid paying twice.

Thank again
