Is there any way in the CC HTML Editor to click on a class in the HTML code and navigate directly to the class in within the Stylesheet? I hope that question makes sense. Let me explain...We have a few Dreamweaver users that I would like to get comfortable with CC HTML Editor and we use a fair amount of CSS in our sites. A lot of these users are comfortable with Dreamweaver and how you can select a class in the Dreamweaver editor and see the class properties right in the CSS pane/window in order to make edits. There's not much switching and searching code for them. In CC HTML Editor I can only see the class name in the code and then I have to manually open the stylesheet and then search for the class name in order to modify the properties. This is fine for me, but for those users who aren't too comfortable with a code editor, I can see this as being to overwhelming.

I was just curious if there was an easier way in the CC HTML Editor.

Although I too would love to see this feature, it's not part of the HTML Editor at this time. What the HTML Editor does have though is the drop down menu when you're typing a class and it will give you the ability to choose the "class" tag and then drop down the choices that it reads directly from the CSS file. I know that's not quite the same, but at least you don't have to hunt down all the classes available if you are familiar enough with your classes in your CSS file.

I would put this in the suggestions forum for the HTML Editor. There are a few others that have been asking for similar features, never know, it might make it into it and it would be an awesome addition for sure. Feel free to post it and I'm sure you'll have others agreeing with you there

This is something that I have suggested be added into the HTML Builder. Simply because it makes things easier for us when we have a CSS file that is 300 lines long and we have to search the file to find what we are looking for...

I'm just getting to grips with the editor. At present I write the class in HTML and then manually add it to css file. I need to research whether there is a more automated way.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, how do you start a new project with HTML page and css file. I know how to set the project up and link to server to ftp files. What I need to know is best way to add class etc to css.

At this time there is no other way than to create a CSS file and manually add it the styles.

Your original post was helpful because thinking about it, possibly the best way is to start the css first so that the choices will dropdown when you go to the HTML.

Yep that's a great idea and works pretty slick too. Even if you don't fill in all the styles in the classes the class names would show up for you in the HTML pages when adding them, you can always tweak the classes as you go.

Ive had it for about 10 years, but never really used it as my main editor. Ive always just stuck with Dreamweaver, but with the cost of upgrading Adobe products now a days and how slow Dreamweaver has become on my PC at work, Im using the CC HTML Editor now more and more and would like others to do the same. Im a Mac user at home and I am using the new OSX Web Editor beta and so far so good there!
