Is a new trial period possible?

Hi all,

As you will no doubt know by the end of this message, I am new at developing websites. When I discovered Coffee Cup software, I downloaded trial versions of the HTML Editor and the Visual Site Developer. After briefly looking at the HTML Editor, I was a bit overwhelmed, so I purchased the VSD in a package including a few other applications. Over the past several weeks, I have developed two websites using VSD, and I have been satisfied with the producct; however, I now realize that the VSD has some limitations. The biggest limitation, in my opinion, is the inability to use CSS for developing page formats, and menus, etc. One of my websites has more than 30 pages, so every time I make a change to the main menu, I need to copy the new menu to each page in the site. I want to be able to develop CSS for my project, so I want to explore the HTML Editor.

Now that I am considering moving up to the HTML Editor; however, I would like to test it first. Unfortunately I am unable to do so, because my 28-day trial period has expired. Is it possible to to renew the trial period so that I may take a closer look at the software? I have removed the installation of the program and downloaded the trial version again; however, I am unable to run it because the trial period has expired.

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions you may have.

John - you might be best served by e-mailing Scott or J on this issue. I don't know if they would allow this or not, but they both have an open door policy and are very responsive to customers. The forum is here, more as a means of user to user support.

I have already asked Scott about this issue and his response was currently there is no way to do another trial.

Thanks to you Phil and Eric for the information. It looks like I'll be staying with VSD.

Best regards,
John H.

Hiya John,

Just a thought here if you're thinking to see if coding is even a possibility for you and don't want to jump into the cost of the HTML Editor, there is a free version of the HTML Editor also that just doesn't have as many features as the full version does. Maybe you can give that a try and see if it's helpful, if it is you can always decide to purchase the Full featured one at some time later or just use this one if it's got enough features for you.

At least this way you can try the html editing without biting the cost and regretting it later if it doesn't work out for you :)

Thank you Jo Ann and Dave. You both came up with excellent suggestions. I'll give the "free stuff" version of the Editor a whirl, and move on from there. I also have a laptop where I may explore the full-featured version of the Editor.

No offense to you, Dave, but I have a question for Jo Ann: Jo Ann, this is the second time you have given me some excellent advice! Are you married? Please don't tell my wife that I was brazen enough to ask such a question. I just wnated to let you know how appreciative I am for your excellent advice. These forums seem to have a lot of knowledgable and nice people.

Thanks to you all,
John H.
