I downloaded the coffee cup editor for my new laptop that has WIndows Vista Home edition and every time I try to run it WIndows will not open the program and I receive an error reading "Coffee Cup Editor Has Stopped Working" and then my only choice is to choose "Close the program" ANy Ideas?

I also tried removing the program and re-installing it

captainron,
I believe you have to either disable or enable the UAC allowing access.

Try running the program as administrator and see if that helps. Click on the desktop shortcut and select run as administrator. If it runs, the next time you it should run as a normal user.

That did the trick - It opened up fine. After I closed it I went to open it up again by just double clicking rather than choose "Run as administrator" and the same error happeneded. Will I have to run as administrator all of the time or is thiere something else I can do?

This should be a a one time setting. If not, you can always go into the program properties and look for an option to always run as administrator.

Give what Abe suggested and that should do the trick. I am not sure why this would be happening in the first place. Are you using Vista Home Basic?

I have been having the same problem with Vista Home Premium. I did Abe's trick of going into the properties setting to "Run As Administrator" and that seems to work. It open fine now.

Yeah, we're running into a pattern here with both flavors of Vista (Home and Premium) the deeper we dig on this issue-- the same thing seems to be cropping up with VSD, and the Run As Administrator option seems to resolve it just the same.

The more we narrow it down, the closer we get to squashing this!

Yep, same issue on pre-installed Vista Business on my new laptop. The Abe Fix works fine but I am not liking Vista... looks cool but is a pain in the butt!

I run Vista home premium and have NOT disabled UAC - yet - but if I install as Admin and run first time as Admin, the rest goes as normal user.
Ha en riktig god dag!
