Coffee Cup and Vista/Filezilla...

I am not sure if this is a coffee cup issue.

I save a file (index) in coffee cup/working and everything appears fine, I can reopen and edit it more and save it again.

When I use "my computer" to look in c:/program files/coffee cup/working it shows yesterdays verion of the index file.

Likewise when I go into Filezilla to upload it also shows and uploads yesterdays version.

I am using HTML Editor build 305, registered. I am running on a dell inspiron laptop running vista. Filezilla version is new as of yesterday.

I tried searching the forums but couldn't find any other issue like this. I have gone back to C and worked my way forward in coffee cup, my computer and filezilla without finding consistency.

Then I deleted the "old" index file and now neither my computer or filezilla can see the new index file.

Thanks for any thoughts to help out, it is as if there are parallel universes on my machine.

Have you checked the Projects folder, probably inside the Working folder?

yeah that was my guess too Lowell, the file isn't where you are telling the program it should be is what it sounds like to me.

My projects folder is under my user files. The missing file is not there and I don't have a projects folder under coffee cup. I just upgraded the HTML editor yesterday so I wonder if it has something to do with importing my old web files into the new editor.

I have a workaround now, I just saved the index file into a different directory, not the working directory, and I could see it fine and ftp it also.

Thanks for the suggestions.

YW glad it's working for you Gerry,

I might suggest though that you try redoing your setups when you get time (backup all your projects and site areas to a safe place first so you don't lose anything) and recreate your projects. You'll find it's pretty easy to throw your files wherever you need them in your projects and the projects are pretty intuitive for the most part. I am really unsure why you would have to have your index file somewhere other than the root of your project which is why I'm suggesting this. I think your projects are not setup correctly and that's why it's doing that to you.

I can tell you it's really easy if you just do this:
  • Create a Project, don't use any theme or set anything up for it, just create the space.
  • Copy (don't move) all your files from your saved project into the new project area you just created. Keep in mind when you create a new project you need to give it specific paths and include the end Path you want it to be in ( it should create this for you ).
Ex: My projects are all in c:\documents & settings....\web projects\nameofprojecthere where "nameofprojecthere" would be the name of your new project and you'd include that in the workspace setup so it creates the folder for you.
  • Make sure all your files are in the locations you want them to be in.
That's it, that should entail all you need to do to now have a cleaned up project area.
*note that you may need to collapse the folders in the project view area here and there to refresh the trees*

Hope that helps and let us know if you have any more strange happenings that we can help with :)
