Can't upload to the server

Can anyone help answer this question? Once I've saved my work I am unable to upload to the server. The box, that tells me that it is 'connecting' just freezes. I've never had this happen.
Any input as to what might be going on?

Thanks
Trish

Hello Trish,

Do you have an security software or firewalls enabled? I would start by disabling them temporarily. They could be blocking or slowing down your connection.

Not enough information. There are dozens of reasons why this might not be happening. The firewall is one. The server settings are another. You don't say if it ever worked or worked at one stage and now it doesn't. What operating system are you using? What version of the software? Who is your host? To get any kind of worthwhile answers from people who volunteer to help out here you need to provide as much information regarding this problem as possible so someone can put their finger on the possible causes.

Dave.

Trish, this happens to me. I have to disable McAfee to upload from within the HTML editor even though I've "allowed" it and marked it safe. All other CC programs will upload without problems.

I have just had the same issue. It connected to my host and got into the right folder and then just sat and I waited and waited and nothing more happened.

When I paused my Avast it uploaded immediately. So looks like a conflict with virus protection programs is a common issue.

It would be good if the program would actually tell you it can't upload and suggest turning off virus protection. As it is it tells you nothing and you sit there waiting like a child waiting for Christmas.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

make sure that you check both your software firewall settings and your Windows firewall settings because as many like myself do, I run them both so even though you've trusted it in one, maybe the other one is still stopping it? Just a thought :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
