Cannot uninstall Coffeecup HTML editor

Hi,

I cannot uninstall the HTML editor and get the message "Could not open Install.Log file". However, the install.log definitely is there.

I guess it has to do with different paths in my German Windows XP.

Any suggestion of how to get rid of the program? It was just a test installation on a customer's behalf (to check, whether it is useful for her).

Regards

Hello Jester,

This seems to be a problem with the way the Editor is referencing the install .log file, to completely remove it you will need to download a program called Ccleaner, install it, then follow these steps.

First manually remove the HTML Editor from the "Program Files" folder by going through the file path: My Computer-> Program Files-> CoffeeCup Software-> then locate the HTML Editor folder and delete it.

Once you have deleted the folder you will need to run Ccleaner, click on the Registry button to the left of the window, then select the scan for issues button at the bottom. After the application has scanned your computer you will then select fix selected issues, and you will not have to back up any changes, finally select fix all selected issues, then restart your computer.

This should take care of any lingering files you may have on your computer that pertain to the Editor. If there is anything else that we can help you with please let us know.

Thank you,

Where I can find the Ccleaner program? If you could post the link on here, that would be greatly appreciated. If you can't post it on here, let me know and I will send you my email address.
Thank you very much.

Ken,

Try download.com and use there search to locate ccleaner, or just google it and find the ccleaner home page.

I generally go to download.com when I want to download a program.

Wallyb,

The latest version of HTML Editor does not have its' own specific folder. The newer programs are installed all in the same folder. If you have other folders, they may have older CC programs such as the Web Calendar or the free DHTML menu program. There are also folders with graphics, various bits of code, as well as the working folder.

What folders are you wanting to remove?
