Hello everyone. I am trying to install Google Webmaster Tools, and cannot verify my site. I am pasting the HTML code into the home page using the HTML tool in VSD, but verification keeps failing.
Can anyone help?

I would recommend using the HTML File upload option. It is much easier and no extra code is needed on your site.

Try the file upload method. I have found that is much easier. Just upload the HTML file they generate to the root folder of your server.

If you are using VSD, just go to the Edit Menu > Add Files and include the file there and upload. It will then appear at www.mydomain.com/verification-file.html

I don't think you are including the correct file. The one Google gives you is an html file with a long file name. That is what you need to include.
If this site is on S-Drive, you can simply upload it through the S-Drive Dashboard. If not, just use any FTP client and place the file with all the other HTML files.
If this is S-Drive and are not sure how to do it, open a support ticket and attach the file and we can do it for you.

Excellent. It is an S-Drive site (I love S-Drive, BTW). I will open a ticket and attach the file. Got a band rehearsal right now, so later.
