Hi Devek,
when I use a text link, the link window pops up, I select the doc browse, and then find my document and then I save, it then saves that doc in the download folder in the files folder. Is this what your doesn't do?
I have also extended my page as a test and used an iframe. I tried with a 3 page pdf. works fine both ways. page size was 800X1250...
ok didn't answer you question but I wanted to know if that was what you meant.

Bruce has indeed answered your question! :) You have to browse for the file, and then it gets copied to the 'download' folder inside the files folder pertaining to your project.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hello,

They are both correct, the reason why you are not able to preview the document is because the document you are linking to is not in the correct file path on your computer. Once you link to a document Visual Site Designer will only create a reference fo the original file on your hardrive into the files folder. To correc this you will need to first place the document into the same folder that your website is in on your computer, then create your link, then browse for the document that is in the folder along with your site. This will help as the link properties to the document are using a relative file path, and need to be the same on your computer as in the server.

Even if you do not use this method the document will link properly once uploaded to your server as Visual Site Designer will use the reference file in the files folder to upload the original file to your server in the correct location.

If there is anything else that we can help you with please let us know.

Thank you,

Devek,
VSd will make the copy into the downloads folder that is within the files folder this is correct. no need for the document to be inside the website folder.

Hi, I understand how VSD does the link however mine won't create links anymore and the links I have already created have the number 80 in the Docum. field. Orlando, any ideas about that?

It looks to me 5.9.1 fixed that. Post back if you still see it after upgrading.
