I have 3 price lists developed in Alpha 5 database and hope to have it on my new, developing web page. (nothing there yet). Total text pages are 19, 15 and 4 respectively for each price list. The lists are presently in PDF format.

What format is the best to use for getting the lists on my web page? PDF, TXT, HTML, DOC, TXT, XLS? Not sure if I can export in all formats from Alpha 5. Give me the easiest mformat & I will work on Alpha 5.

Once I get the files cleaned up without page breaks, page numbers and headers, do I just "add text" to get them into VSD? I read & re-read the help files but it is still not clear. Searched the forums also. I really am a newbie but determined.
Is it best to link to files on the server or have the lists as part of my web site?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

The best way to distribute price lists is as a PDF file: they can't be altered...
To include a PDF pricelist in your website, do as follows:

1 - make a button (a graphical object) on a page that is called 'price list' :-). You can draw all kinds of objects on your page with the shapes tool, and add a button text (i.e. 'price list') inside it. You also could create a text object and write 'price list' inside it.
2 - Go to the 'link' icon and click on it. Be sure to activate the object that you want to give a link to beforehand. An object is activated when a blue border can be seen around it.
3 - In the link window, tick 'use link' and tick 'docum.' Docum. of course is short for document.
4 - Click on the ... rectangle next to 'docum.' A window opens where you can search for the price list PDF on your local HD and open it. Now this document is linked to the button.
5 - Now go to 'target' and click the arrow down symbol. You see 5 different ways to link the document to the button. Choose 'New Window (_blank)'. This will open a new window when somebody clicks your price list button: they don't leave your website this way, they don't have to use the back button of the browser to return to the price list page.

When you upload your website, the PDF file is uploaded too, automatically.

Linking files this way can be used for any file, be it a PDF file, a video movie, an MP3 song or whatever...

Hope this helps!
