IMO version 7 is a big improvement on version 6, but you have a choice, it is up to you.
My V7 works fine.

Well...

There were some 'broken' things in V6 that got fixed with V7, if I'm not mistaken. But also, there were improvements made. Yes, this generally means some bugs will show there nasty little heads, and have. But CC folks, as usual have been on top of things to correct them.

Something else that you should consider though, is that you may have a problem someday (that you haven't already encountered and learned to 'work around'), and may have a hard time finding an answer as it won't be "supported" forever.

I had to go back to version 6 because v7 will not display text boxes properly on a mac. When it happens, nothing seems to work. Especially two word navigation links and footer text. V6 always looked great. Problem is, any site that I had opened with v7 can't be opened with v6. so I have to bounce between two machines depending on what site version I am working on. What a major pain. Please get this fixed guy's.

This is not a bug in the software, it has to do with how you add the text objects to your page. We have an article here that will show you the do's and don't on adding text objects to your page.

Hi Scott, I have to disagree. I have followed the instructions in the article to the tee and still with no luck. The me clarify a bit. I'm not talking about a paragraph that is formatted a little different here there like the example in the article. I get that, basic stuff there. I'm Talking about I can have a perfectly looking page I built in v6 that looks great on windows and mac.

If I go in with v7 and change one word in a text box. Save it and republish. Any page that I had opened an saved with v7 will have several text boxes (Usually not the one I edited) that will be double lined. (Meaning the end word of a two word praise will be shoved under the first). And no mater what ,I can't get it fixed. Erase retype, retype it on a new page and copy and paste, take a there word sentence drop it two words, Still does it.

These are individual text boxes with nothing to do with a paragraph. Often it is a two word prase in the upper navigation links such as "Home Page" would end up being Home
Page
And it seams that the "copyright 2011 bla bla bla" in the footer all way's gets scewed also.

Once again, no amount of playing with the size of the text boxed will fix it.

Maybe it's my computer, Shouldn't be, I even reinstalled window, I have even tried it on a different machine.

I have a ton of sites I made for clients with V6 hat I have to do updates on and am scared to death to open with v7.

I also have several sites that I did with V7 before I was aware of the mac thing. That I have to use V7 on. As far as I know I can only have one version installed at a time on my machine.

I am here to help figure this out. I love you guys your products.

Thanks

I am very skeptical about that Pete... ;) but I think the best starting point is to show us your website so we can deconstruct it. If you also opened a support ticket and send us your vnu and _website folder and we can open it here.

I am not sure I have the same problem but I just upgraded VSD. When I opened one of my sites I saw that textboxes are messed up. They overwrite eachother, are smaller then original.
When I upload the site It does'not show. It looks that I have to reorganize all my sites (3) :(. The is no overwriting as far as I have seen, but text is broken. f.e. contact becomes
contac
t

I don't use a MAC but a Windows 7 64 bit pc.

Do I really have to reorganize my sites?

Hey Scott, I will do that, I will whip up a quick site for you that's having the mac problem, open another ticket and sent you all the files for your review. I'll also send you a working v6 file that has been opened in v7 and not working in mac. I'm eager to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks

Pete
