switched to mac - yikes - need help
Sigh, I switched to MAC with the understanding that life would be easier . . .
Quit laughing . . . it's not nice. Smile
So I install parallels, install windows 7. Easy and works fine. I install coffee cup vsd and open
one website and what I see is a jumble of text . . . a major mess. So now I am stuck. If I build it
to look good in vsd it looks like k-rap in browsers. If I build a jumbled mess in coffee cup on the
mac then it looks good on browsers - but that is ridiculous.
I thought that coffee cup would work just like normal and not be affected by MAC tiny font syndrome.
Apparently I was wrong.
Has anyone mastered the art of vsd in parallels?
Where can I go to get help making this work so my extremely expensive little macbook pro doesn't become a total waste for me.
Thanks
Donna

Why would you think life would be easier if you purchased a Mac to run windows based software? Who talked you into the switch?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

On the Mac, use Command+Shift+4
Pretty cool right?

Using VSD under Parallels or any virtual machine is identical to running Windows. The problem you have Donna is you have not been keeping your software up to date. You are running Build 15 of VSD but the most current version is Build 24. Updates are free, so why not take advantage of them?
You can download the latest version(7.0 Build 24) from the My Products page on our website. Upon installing the new version to your computer, it is best to instantly open your website using the new version and click File > Save As to save the project to a new location. This will apply all version changes to your website!
Although this update to Visual Site Designer has made vast improvements to the markup and how the site will display in different browsers and operating systems, there are a few things you should take a look at.

Understanding both of these articles will greatly enhance your understanding on how the software works.
Let me know how it works out!

To Eric,
Actually, no one talked me into it, but me. I am really loving it, except for the difference in fonts.
I have installed parallels and am running windows and it is lightening fast and so all is good.
Coffee cup programs work well on it and I'm pleased . . . except for the fact that when I opened
one of my sites in vsd in windows on the mac, the text was a mess. Overlapping and out of
position.
To Scott: So I have downloaded the latest vsd and did open up in that, and it is still a mess. So I'm trying to figure out how to deal with this. I did read your articles the first time you posted them to me, so I need to go in and change the text to graphics and put in the alternate text and see if that works.
Thanks for the Command + Shift + 4 tip. Love that!
Thanks for the great support.
I love CC and so appreciate your help.
Donna;)

Is it one of the sites in your signature?
Or can you share a Link?
Lets make sure we are seeing the same thing you are.

Hey Scott...I just recently switched to Mac as well, but love CC software and currently use VSD. I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. Do you guys have any kind of timeline for making your software available for Mac users?
Thanks,
Laurie
