Take a look at my latest. http://www.gsumchurch.com I made this for our church. Our congregation has dwindled over the years so we suggested to open the doors to having weddings for non-members at the church in hopes they will find our church to be the place they were looking for for their church home. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Everyone,

After finally getting a break over the holidays I was able to finish my company website. What a huge relief to finally get it posted.

A special thanks to the Coffee Cup Team, Eric Rohloff, Paintbrush, and Viv@jewelcraft for their help with the questions and guidance -- thanks!

Here's the site: www.bendboxdesign.com

So I'm a little obsessed with your website - in a good way, of course. Do you mind sharing how you created some of the elements? What are the dimensions of your background? How did you create the opaque text boxes, copyright bar and nav bar? What program - besides CC, of course - did you use to create those items and any other elements in your website? I love your aesthetics and would like to incorporate some of your tricks into future websites.

Thanks and best wishes with your business. I am just south of you in Sandy Springs, so if I hear of anyone who could use your help, I'll be sure to send them to your website.

Andy, the second site is showing nicely, but when opening the first one Norton alerts me:
Web attack: Blackhole Toolkit Website 12. And apparently it's a red alert, meaning high risk. The content of the site was blocked. I was not able to check the code either, it all was wiped out.

You may want to look into that, and in the meantime I have removed the url so that others who are less protected than me don't risk anything

Yes, i just found our from the owner of the site, the previous PHP website which is still there had been hacked, and VSD that I posted I chose not to remove the old site temporarily until all was functional.

Thanks for the help. :) the black hole virus was in the PHP files, not the VSD project.

Hi WR,

My apologies for the late response, I've been out of town and came in late last night with a client emergency that has had me tied up all day.

Thank you very much for your kind comments! I really appreciate it and am glad you like my site!

So, to answer your questions:

1) The dimensions of my background are pretty large, it's 2000 x 1300. I made it this large because many designers I know have pretty large monitors so I wanted the image to not be seen repeating up to a 24" monitor. Beyond that size monitor or resolution rather, the image will repeat itself horizontally.

2) The opaque text boxes and nav bar were created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The text was created in VSD so search engines can read it. The header text was made in Illustrator becuase it's not a web safe font (only 84% of computers have that font last I read).

3) The background elements (3D work) were all created in Rhino3D, Sculptris, Vray, and Thea.

4) The gallery of images are in lightbox style. You can easily add this code from the Visual Lightbox program into an HTML box in VSD, very easy to do. It's based on JQuery, so it's friendly to the main web browers as well as iPhones and droids.

5) The static background image is controlled by a bit of CSS code that Eric Rohloff helped me out with. CSS can really do a ton. If you want to do some more tricks with the CSS here's a great resource: http://w3schools.com/

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, or need specifics, let me know. Feel free to email me if you want, the address is on my site.
