pdf links don't work
Things that should ALWAYS be included:
1. URL to your Website (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM) - www.georgiapeach.fatcow.com/0tempftp/amundsentemp
I have removed all the jukeboxes that were on the pages.
2. Operating system - W7 Home, 64 bit
3. Version of the application - 7.0.8
4. Trial or registered version - registered
5. What specific steps have you taken to create this issue? - have photos on "Our Class" page with links to a pdf for each photo. The pdf file appears in the "Download" folder but it will not open in preview or live.
6. Does it occur every time? - yes
7. Can you recreate the issue on another computer? - I copied all files to a 32 bit machine and the same thing happens.
Oddly, the pdfs that are linked to on the "Memoriam" page work just fine. It's the photos with the Blue text that have pdfs attached.
I have completely deleted the "Our Class" page and rebuilt it several times using a different copy of the other pages, but still have the same problem for 3 full days!
Any suggestions?
Cheryl

Cheryl, I just sent you an email with a link to download the latest beta of VSD. Let me know if this helps any. If you still have your 6.06 site, you may want to try re-opening that in the version I am sending you and see how that goes.

Scott, I don't still have the version 6 files. I opened my 7.0.8 site in the beta you sent me and there's no change in the way it's handling the pdfs. It did screw up some of the text on the page, though and now even the pdfs on The Memoriam page won't open either.

At this point unfortunately you will have to link in all those PDF's again for each photo. Once you do that, go to the Publish Menu and select Re-Sync and it will re-upload all of your files again.
If it gets to the point that no matter what you do and cannot get it to work, open a support ticket and attach all your project files and we can take a look here.

Scott, Re-linking the pdfs did not work. I have opened a support ticket but need to know how and what files to send.
Gonna start from scratch with template again in the 7.0.11 version to see if it will work. So many hours, days and months already spent on this and now cannot update. . . I sure hope folks with business sites are not having the same problems. I know you guys will get it figured out.

What we need is the .vnu file and the _website folder inside of one zip file. What you send in your support ticket was just the .vnu file which will not contain any of your images, pdf's and other documents.

Scott, we started over using 7.0.11 using the same template and it seems all the pdf links are working in this beta version. I guess it was just the 6.0 version upgrading to 7.0.8 that didn't work. Now I know to keep a copy of the old version files if I upgrade again.
I've zipped the files you want and I'll attach here if you still want to see them. Well, dadgumit! I can't figure out how to attach a zip file. I'll just send them in an email.

Scott, i think i had the same issue as above when upgrading from VSD 6 to VSD 7 Build 11. The PDF link to the document got partially wiped out.
When uploading to the server with no changes I got a message indicating the links could not be found. Link pointed to my C Drive - See attached VSD 6.0
After uploading, the link pointed to the Files/Download Folder but not to the actual document, just the folder. "http://juliekushner.com/files/Download/". This was due to the file not being found on my C Drive
I changed the link to a URL instead of a document. See attached VSD 7.0
The problem was due to the folder on my C drive being renamed from julie-V6_website to julie_website. The folder rename on my C Drive was done during the upgrading of the web site from 6.0 to 7.0.......
