Good work Bruce!
Sharon, was it a new pic that was causing the problem?
The files that I'm trying to upload are the same pics that have been on my site since December.
I did go in and check one of the image files that VSD was hanging on, it's an older file, and when I checked my site it was displaying only the top half of that image???
What I really don't get is how this program can work fine for a while and then not at all a week later, very frustrating.

I would like to think it's not VSd causing this, but something having to do with the server. But as Sharon has done, open VSD and minimize it, then go to your web folder and in there the files folder and remove /delete all images that your hanging up on. then maximize VSD save then re-sync it see if that helps, you should have anymore problems after that. I'm thinking that VSD noticed there was an error with an Image and wouldn't let it upload it.

Bruce, thanks for the reply.
I'll try your suggestion this evening, (VSD is on my home computer).
I have already tried a clean sweep on my server, uninstalled VSD, rebooted and reinstalled etc. all to no avail.
When VSD hangs, it's not always on the same IMG file.
If in fact I do have a problem with a file that's been on my site for months, how would I determine what the problem is?
Unfortunately that IMG file is integral to my site.

Just seems to me as though I'm having to chase problems way more often than should be required...has me re-thinking how much of my limited spare time I'm willing to devote to my site.

Hi Boyd,
If this img is constantly stoping your uploading, I would make it an iframe to avoid it.(my fix) but up to you sir. I'm also thinking maybe VSD see's it as a large img and it's taking time for it to load, as I have explained to Sharon my dilemma with an swf file. I just needed to wait longer than usual.I know not your case though. Could try just for the time being to remove that img, save VSD, then reinstall that img, this to works for sidtorted imgs and freeze ups. The add files files wizard is another option. using an external ftp such as filezilla, direct ftp, free ftp to upload just the files folder, then use vsd to upload the rest. I guess i'll keep throwing thses out there til someone else answers as to why.lol.
let us know Boyd.thank you

Bruce I've tried going at this a few diferent ways, including your suggestion of minimizing/deleting and re-syncing without success.
I've tried deleting any photos that the upload seems to hang on, when I try that method VSD just hangs on a different photo.
I'm ay my wit's end with this program.
Thanks again for your previous input, guess I'll just have to wait for CC to get back to me on this matter.

I'd like to think you are right about VSD Bruce, but this major uploading problem seemed to show up with the 5.9.1 or .4 version, and I willing to bet it has something to do with the change they made so you don't have to upload the whole site each time, just the changes you made .... Must be a connection. This will be a good test for the CC software engineers, lol. Hopefully they will get on ot it first thing Monday morning.

Hi Seif,
I can't figure out why I'm not or other users with XP are experiencing this problem. VSd sends log info to the server which could very well be causing it not to show as uploaded therefore isn't showing the image but still I'm no expert to really say. But Boyd has used the fix that Coffecup has made for the connection problem in version 5.9.1 and with version 5.9.4 I had no problems, your right Coffeecup wil need to address each one individually I think. thanks for input.

I'm using XP Bruce and I haven't had problem with the .1 version but I'm not sure if I've used the VSD built in FTP yet. I did the major part of the work on the site with 5.8 and used it in that version and noticed that it seemed to take quite a long time to upload, althought the site worked fine so it did it's job. I bought the CC FTP program and have been using that to upload most of the changes and additions since I switched to VSD 5.9.1, so I'm not sure if these problems started with .1 or .4 because I don't think I've used the built-in FTP. I don't know much about this stuff either that's why I'm using VSD, I don't know html code.
