Hi Inger, i have done all of that, i also removed the menu, then re set everything else, and re added the menu last (paintbrush earlier post)

Really need someone to look at the source code for me who understands code (well known i don't)

I have an inkling suspicion that either menu builder is not compatible with VSD

OR my version of VSD is not working correctly, but i have removed from laptop and re installed, made no difference.

I am now running windows 8, i wonder if even that might be conflicting with VSD

I'll take a look...
Could you post the .mb file of your menu here, or if you don't want to do that, mail it to me, in - eik at frisurf dot no (take out the spaces and replace 'at' and 'dot' with the correct symbols).

I don't think it has anything to do with VSD or win8.

Viv, Inger had the right idea. I do this all the time on my site. You should just be able to right-click the menu and select 'bring to front', then you will also need to right-click the banner and 'send to back'. The reason is that your menu does not fall over the banner, only the sub-menu when it comes up. This should solve the problem unless something else is causing a conflict. I'm no coder so can't really help you there, but this does work on my site.

I don't get it?? The menu is not 'Text', so, no option. The 'banner' is not 'text, so, no option. Am I missing something, or do I need another Red Bull? :lol:

Probably the text that is seen on top of the lower buttons...
This thing has really given me something to work on. I made a small menu, copied Viv's banner and gave it a try. The result was the same as his. I didn't get any of the 'bring to back' buttons to work, only bring to front.

So I fired up the HTML Editor, and even there I had a struggle. It seems that the menu code has to be put inside a div with a given width (or max-width), otherwise it will expand the whole width of the viewport because of some 100% width given to the container it is sitting in. At first I didn't see that, and I could not understand why it was impossible to position the menu and the banner image side by side. I don't know if this makes it difficult in VSD. But anyway, I got the elements positioned eventually, and the menu behaved as it should.
If it can help someone at all, here is the html code:
<body>
<div ="wrapper">
<div id="left">
<!-- Start of the body content for CoffeeCup Menu Builder -->

Menu code goes here...

<!-- End of the body content for CoffeeCup Menu Builder -->
</div> <!-- end left -->
<div id="right"><img src="new_menu/images/Home-page-delorean-jewellery-back-to-future.gif" width="749" height="135" alt="" title="" /><br>
<p>Here is some text..<br>and some more...<br>and another bit of gibble...</p>
</div> <!-- end right -->

</div> <!-- end wrapper -->
</body>

And this was added to 'style.css':

#wrapper{
max-width: 1200px;
}

#left {
width: 250px;
float: left;
}

#right {
width: 760px;
float: left;
}

As you see, I haven't bothered about margins, paddings and such things-
But don't ask me to put this into VSD! :o

This text in VSD will need to be "Advanced"
Laser engraved products at the best possible price

Provide your own artwork, in a large clear jpg, gif or png ready for the
laser engraver to proccess with the engraving machine, and our
state of the art technology will replicate it so precicely, it is almost
impossible to comprehend it can be achieved at such a low cost.

Hey thanks for all the input everyone, i just got back from London delivering collecting hence not seen till now

I think this is going to cause CC some headache when Scott sees this thread, because as a VSD user, i expected menu builder to be compatible (non code for a NON CODER) but thats not the case here

And i have no idea what to do with all this code help, but it is exactkly what i needed to show Scott, who seemed to think in my support thread, that this should have been a srait forward case of sent to back, and bring to front.

and 68 pages to edit , you only are seeing 1

Thanks everyone, will post back once Scott has had a look.

I took your menu Viv and added it to a VSD site and followed the instructions in the article and it worked perfectly. The text at the bottom I switched to advanced text and sent it backwards twice and the image on the right I also sent backwards twice. Check it out here at http://five.coffeecup.com/

This uses your menu and you can see the navigation goes over everything on the right side. All you need to do is make sure to adjust the layering for the objects on the right hand side and send them backwards behind the menu. It will work every time. ;)

Scott, take out that png and replace it with Viv's animated gif.

I tried with your png, and it worked flawlessly, but not when using Viv's banner.

Viv, for the time being I think you need to change your banner into a flat image file, and when Scott has shown us how to deal with your present banner, you can put it back again.
At least it would not leave your proper site without a navigation.
