I take it your using Visual Site Designer.
The vnu file is in a sense your own created template, with that when you open your project you are opening your own template/website. When you use VSD(Visual Site Designer) and upload it, all the nessesary html files, flash files images get uploaded automatically using the built-in ftp.
The vnu file will not be uploaded unless you uploaded it. If you use another method of uploading such as direct ftp, or filezilla whatever, you must open your website folder, by default is located in your My Documents folder, and it is named whatever you saved your project as--example (MyWebsite_website).
With in this folder is another folder called files, it holds all your images and within that folder is a folder called Downloads which holds any documents you may have added such as a pdf or word.
Everyhting within that website folder is uploaded, not the website folder BUT IT'S CONTENTS...

Hi,
well let's see!
you just started making your website, you've added pictures, some text, and some links. Now is the time to save it (your website). So you name it MariasHouseOfPancakes.(((((NOTE: try keeping all pages named one word names and also your images, some hosting/browsers won't let you upload unless they are name single word names, you can get by with _ in the space between names.)))))))
Now in My Documents folder there should be a folder named like so--MariasHouseOfPancakes_website.
As stated above your pages and other used files will be in there along with a folder called "files" which holds your images.
Anyway when you named your website I beleive your saved it as whatever.vnu, well just open up VSD and select save as and rename it just plain ole whatever. Everything made that needs to have an .html extension is all done by VSD you need not add that to any files or folders. THIS SHOULD HELP!

If you need a visual to show how to change a websites name in VSD I will do and post a link here. Just let me know
Because coffeecup is good to the last crop!
