Hi there,

I am having trouble correctly placing a Facebook "Like" button on my web site using Visual Site Designer.

I read through (many times) and tried to follow (many times) the directions on Facebook to add the "Like" button, but can't figure out where to put the specific parts into VSD.

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/re … gins/like/

That's the explanation link on FB.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

(p.s. I know my web site looks like crap right now, I'm re-doing it. Try not to judge me ;)

Hi Emily,

Follow the steps on the link you gave: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/re … gins/like/ . At the end you click 'get code'. Copy this code and paste it in a HTML box that you place somewhere on your page (both parts, the upper part in the 'header' part of the HTML box, the lower part in the 'body') .
I realize you have to be a 'facebook developer' to do this. Is this the difficult part for you?

You may have to publish your site to see it working. some scripts don't preview in VSD.
Here's another example of how it's done. Hope it helps.

I went nuts with this until I figured out the site had to be live for the button to show up.
The script wants to connect to the actual site, not the temp/preview site. (Same with Twitter)

I have followed these steps: copying and pasting HTML5 code appropriately. But i'm still not seeing it on my live website. Does it take some time for it to show up?

Did you try this. Also can you supply a link so we can check it out?
