Hi Kirk and Amanda (and all others),

I restyled the Pro-Bike example website. Now it contains nothing but VSD objects, no photos or images, so it is universal. I added sub-pages for the 'services' menu/button too, so now there are two examples of combining a vertical and horizontal menu layout, to imitate drop-down menus: services and bikes. No, imitate is not the right expression, the right expression is that it offers the same functionality, and all is done with VSD! Here it is: http://johnvanhulst.com/probike

I tried inserting a menu using html editor's css menu designer, and placing it into VSD. It was quite simple to me, just copying a couple peices of code into the pages and uploading the source files and your done. Your right about having to copy the html code it provides using the html tool but all worth it.

I do not say it is difficult -in fact it is very easy- to place a menu, made with the Coffeecup HTML editor (or whatever software) into VSD using it's HTML tool, but I say: and then? What's next? How do you make a connection with pages made in the WYSIWYG environment of VSD with the HTML menu that you placed inside VSD with it's HTML tool? There is NO connection! It is impossible in VSD. The only thing you might do is to import the HTML code (generated by VSD) of your final product, i.e. the menu and the pages, into the Coffeecup HTML editor again, and then make this connection by hand. So it's a useless excersize, only making life more difficult. You'd be far better off starting with the HTML editor from the beginning, or...

I could think of a scenario where you make a drop-down menu with the HTML editor and then make separate websites with VSD for each of the buttons of the drop down menu. In Holland we have a proverb for this: "het paard achter de wagen spannen". This translates to: "to put the cart before the horse"...

There are no plans to implement anything like this into VSD at this time. Sorry. ;(
