Creating Links
This tutorial will show you how to add text and image links to a page created in Visual Site Designer. To create an image link, select the image you would like to use as a link, and then click the Link button in the Toolbar. This opens the Link Properties window. Check the Use Link checkbox, and then select the location where you'd like the link to point. You can select a page from your Visual Site Designer project, an e-mail address (when clicked, this option will open the user's default mail client), an external page, or a document (when clicked, this option will allow your user to download a file). You can also select the target (use this option if you're familiar with frames).
To add a text link, highlight the text you would like to use as a link and then follow the steps outlined previously. When you're done, you can preview your links by clicking the Preview button in the Toolbar. Your links will be fully functional within the Preview window.

Adding Shapes
This tutorial will show you how to add shapes in Visual Site Designer. To do this, click the Shapes tool in the Toolbox. This opens the Shapes window, which allows you to choose one of the 16 predefined shapes that come with the program. Select the shape you wish to add, and then create it by clicking and dragging your mouse on the workspace. By default, the shape will be the Chosen Color, which you can set using the color swatch at the top of the Toolbox. When you release your mouse, you'll notice that the shape is surrounded by a blue border with eight "handles," one on each side and one in each corner. To adjust the size of your shape, use the handles on the sides. Hold down the Shift key if you want to preserve the aspect ratio. To rotate your shape, use the handles on the corners. You can also adjust these settings in the Object Properties window. If you're working with a shape with corners, you can also use the rounded corners field to round them out. Higher numbers produce rounder corners.

Adding Images
This tutorial will show you how to add an image to a page created in Visual Site Designer. To do so, click the Image icon in the Toolbox. Next, click anywhere on your page where you want the image to appear. (You can change the location of the image after you have added it, so you don't need to worry about being perfectly exact.) Clicking the page opens a window that allows you to browse your computer for the .jpg, .png, or .gif image you would like to use. When you find the desired image, click Open. The image will be added to your page. You can move it by clicking and dragging it. To resize it, click and drag one of the handles on the top, bottom, or side of the image. To preserve the aspect ratio, hold down the Shift key while resizing. If you want to rotate the image, click one of the handles in one of the corners. You can also adjust these settings under the Object Properties window.

Adding Text
This tutorial walks you through the steps involved in adding text to your Website. Click the Text tool in the Toolbox, and then click and drag a text box on your page. The box will have a red outline with "handles" on each side. You can move your text box by clicking and dragging one of the top or bottom handles, and you can resize your text box by clicking and dragging the handles on the left- and right-hand side. The Object Properties window allows you to work with your text properties, including font face, size (1 is the smallest and 7 is the largest), style (bold, italic, or underline), alignment (left, center, and right), and color.

Getting Started
This tutorial introduces you to Visual Site Designer. When you first start the program, you'll see a window that allows you to start a new Website from scratch, open a preexisting Website created with Visual Site Designer, or create a new Website from a theme. Choosing the theme option opens a window that allows you to browse the available themes. If you choose not to use a theme, you can cancel out of this window and create a new Website using the options under the File menu. To start a new Website, go to File and select New Website. This opens the New Website window, which allows you to enter information about your new Website. This includes the page title, which is the text displayed across the top of your user's Internet browser, and the Page ID, which is the HTML filename of the page. You can also specify the page size by manually entering the dimensions or choosing a predefined size. You may also center your Website design. The next section allows you to choose a page background. Your options are a solid color, a picture, or a gradient fill. The final option allows you to set the color for visited and unvisited links on your Webpage.
