Exporting your account information to a Shared LockBox File is an easy process, and we provide a few different options for you.
A Shared LockBox file is a file that allows you to send login information to others so that you can share between family, friends or coworkers. Let’s get started!

Exporting to a File
Step 1:
Right click on any username and choose Create LockBox Shared Data File.
Step 2:
In the Export window Select the accounts you wish to export.
- Export all accounts in the database
- Export only the selected accounts.
Setting a Password
You can secure your export by assigning a password to the Shared LockBox File in the provided field. We highly recommend this as it is sensitive information you are sharing.
Step 3:
Choose where you want to save the exported file by clicking the Browse Folder button.
Step 4:
Click Export and your file will be saved in the location you choose in Step 3.

E-Mail Shared LockBox File
Step 1:
Right click on any username and choose Create LockBox Shared Data File.
Step 2:
In the Create Shared LockBox File window select the accounts you wish to export.
- Export all accounts in the database
- Export only the selected accounts.
Step 3:
Under the Options section, you can choose to password protect the file, which is recommended, and to send the file via E-Mail. If you do decide to send the file via E-Mail, please see the SMTP Settings Section below.
Step 4:
Choose where you want to save the exported file by clicking the Browse Folder button.
Step 5:
Click Export and your file will be saved in the location you choose in Step 4.

SMTP Settings
To setup your SMTP Settings you need to navigate to Tools > Edit E-Mail Settings…
Here you will need to enter the information for the SMTP server you wish to use. If you do not know this information, you will need to contact your E-Mail provider to obtain it.

When contacting your E-Mail provider ask them for the following information:
- E-Mail address that should be used
- SMTP Username
- SMTP Password
- SMTP Server
- SMTP Port
- Does my outgoing SMTP server require authentication
- If it does what settings should I be using?

Once you have this information enter it into the E-Mail Settings Window and you are good to go!
