Looking for a way to publish your sitemap on your Visual Site Designer website! Yes, we know that is why you are here. :) That being said, simply follow the instructions listed below and your sitemap will be embedded in your  Visual Site Designer site in no time! :)

When you publish your sitemap, the Export Options window will appear with three different options. Simply click the Show Instructions button to open the instructions steps.

Step 1:

Press the Copy to Clipboard button. This will then allow you to take this code and add it to Visual Site Designer.

Step 2:

Go back to Visual Site Designer and click the Edit Menu and Edit Header. Paste the copied code into the Header HTML box and click OK.

Step 3:

Press the Copy to Clipboard button. This will then allow you to take this code and add it to Visual Site Designer.

Step 4:

Go back to Visual Site Designer and click the Add HTML button located in the Left Hand Toolbar in Visual Site Designer and click on your page where you would like the sitemap to appear.

Step 5:

This opens the Insert HTML window. Enter a name to reference this HTML object in HTML Object Name field, then paste the code into the text area below the Body HTML tab.

Step 6:

Click OK and your object will be placed on your Visual Site Designer webpage. Do not forget to position it where you would like it to appear on the page. The size really does not matter, but it is visually helpful to resize it to the approximate width.

Step 7:

Now all that is left is to click the "Open Folder in Explorer" button.

Step 8:

You'll notice that this window provides you with the full path to the exported files. You should see a few items:

Now we need to include all of the Sitemapper files with Visual Site Designer. This is where you have a few options on how you want to include the Sitemapper files with Visual Site Designer.

Option 1: Automatic (S-Drive):

This option is used for S-Drive and it is by far the easiest way to include your sitemap with Visual Site Designer. Click the Open Folder in Explorer button. This will open a folder that contains all of your files

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! Take the CONTENTS of this folder and copy them into your Visual Site Designer _website project folder. Again, only copy the CONTENTS of this folder and not the folder itself.

And that is it! Now publish your website to S-Drive and your sitemap files will automatically be included when you publish.

Option 2: Manual Upload:

You can also use any FTP program (like our Direct FTP) to upload the sitemap files to your server. Click the Open Folder in Explorer button.

This will open a folder that contains all of your Sitemapper files.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Take the CONTENTS of this folder and upload them to your server and place them in the folder where your website files are located.

Option 3: Direct Add

Using this option does require a little more work, but it allows you to include the files directly within Visual Site Designer so that you do not have to manually upload the files. Please note that if you make even the slightest typo or leave a single file out, the sitemap will not function. For that reason, we recommend the other two options.

Go back to Visual Site Designer and go to the Edit Menu and select Add Files. This opens the Add Files dialog. To create a folder, click the folder icon with the green plus sign icon, all the way over in the bottom left-hand side of the window. Your file tree should look something like this.

When you're done, simply Save and Publish your website to see your fancy new sitemap in action. :)

Enjoy!
