Hi Guys,

I have no idea where to post this.

I am working with Leonard Pletier's artwork, and I would like to present it in a slide show.

Is there a tool here that will allow me to do this?

Epic thanks,

Dawn

If you are using site designer then yes there are some in the foundation framework and the bootstrap framework and with a little bit of help you could make one using some custom CSS
The foundation slider is called "orbit" and you can put find it in the components library

If you struggle I can help just shout out. I do step by step tutorials if required.

Orbit is one solution. I find it quite cumbersome to work with though. If you are looking for a good slider that has held up over the last decade I would look to use Wowslider.

You can use free for personal use or you can buy a license here https://wowslider.com/

We'll there is the difference when one knows or has been shown how to use it properly

Orbit is very versatile easy to use and makes a great slider especially for displaying images. I can be customised different size images no problem you can set it so that it adjusts itself automatically, cross fade slide in slide up the list goes on and the beauty is that it's within site designer so you can see what you are doing and what it is doing there and then.
Although wowsliswer is ok some find it also cumbersome in that you can't see what you have done from within site designer.
Anyway until we know which coffeecup app is being used it's irrelevant

I have quite a few samples of the different ways to use and customise orbit, and as an artist also I use it for displaying my art work too.

There is also another one a component in site designer called reveal, this also can be made to act like a slider and look very similar to the lightbox type of effect, I use that quite a lot too.

Yes for sure Mouse you are correct. I didn't imply that it doesn't work and yes it is great that you can see what your doing within Site Designer. However it is very annoying editing and resizing multiple images especially if your client sends you 20-30 random sized images. Wow slider will automatically resize them all.

Another negative I find with Orbit is your stuck with one look, one set of animations, one often boring presentation of your images. With Wowslider you have 1000s of choices of themes and animations, along with hundreds of combinations transitions. The learning curve to adding a wowslider to your Site Designer project is much quicker than learning how to use Orbit.

I truly wish Coffeecup would create something as easy to use as this into their platform. There was an attempt at one time with Responsive Content Slider but that was just as cumbersome and hard to learn as Orbit.

To each their own of course, that's just where I come from and find easiest to use and manage especially when you need to change out images or upload completely new galleries without spending hours of time going through each photo container one at a time to change the images.

Hope this provides some perspective.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve
I have put together some short demo videos for some variational o the "orbit slider" I just needs uploading,, I will be adding more over the next few days.

wow slider is a nice application and yes there are loads of things one can do with it.

I will also be doing a demo for making a simple slider within Site designer using CSS only no Js library etc,, it'will be fairly simple and plain, but often for a gallery type of presentation thats what is required rather than something more complex.
I do also agree that sometimes "Orbit can be a bit cumbersome and frustrating and that it would be pretty neat to CC to introduce something back into their component / app family similar to the old content slider thingy which was aslo pretty good one one got to know their way around it.

Maybe one day if & when I get the time / inspiration I might look at doing one and making a component for it.

In the meanwhile take care over there in Canada, stat safe & well as always

W

ps willbe putting a link up to the demos thinggy later today, in my signature area.,

Thanks Mouse that would be great.

@Dawn
I had an old video on how to add Wowslider to an RSD project. I can remake another video how to add one to an SD project if that was something you were interested in as well.

Anyways same to you Mouse. Hope everyone stays healthy and happy.

Ki There Everybody
Just to let you know I have added another demo to the ones already there sot the Orbit Component.

I think it should be said, that most sliders out there are capable of doing plenty of things and can look cool too, the limitations are mostly in your vision, your ideas, some sliders will be easier to make your vision a reality, others are a bit more complex,
I find ORBIT to be one of the easer ones

The latest one is in on the website same place as the others Link below in my signature)
