Finally, something to show people. I used Site Designer V3 vanilla desktop down, no breakpoints. Clearly, the pictures are too big so I need to work on that. Suggestions on how to make a menu under a hamburger icon that is just one column would be appreciated.

Also, I am using a paragraph (that currently contains the single word "spacer") in an attempt to force the title to the bottom of the left container in the first page, placing it opposite the volcanic field in the image. But I don't know exactly how to do that.

Beautiful pictures Stonecherub. Here is a basic Desktop Down SDV3 Vanilla Hamburger Menu with pages. There is one breakpoint to switch from mobile to desktop for the menu.

Thank you, Twinstream, I, downloaded and expanded it. Now, how do I use it? In Notepad, it's completely unintelligible.

Did you try opening the project with SD3 after you unzipped it ?

Hi Stonecherub,

I have been messing with your site design, especially where you have that first image with the heading to the left of it, and where you tried pushing it down by means of that spacer. You may have noticed, that when the viewport gets narrower, the image gets smaller, but the heading stays at the same distance from the spacer. That can be fixed using flex positioning.
The file I have attached is a mix of Twinstream's menu and my efforts with your index page. See if that can help you using Twinstream's nice menu.

Inger,

The menu I like best is your va-collapsable-menu that I got from your website. I want the three bar icon in the upper left to display a menu down the left margin

I tried making the title container flex but everything just collapsed into a big heap at the top.

Unfortunately, I lost the link to the New York Times article I wanted to emulate. I'm looking.

Stonecherub,
I'm sure Twinstream's menu can be styled differently, to look like the one I made. And BTW, I need to change out the search box from my menu, as the one have there isn't good enough. I'll be busy today and most of tomorrow, but after that I can try helping you, if you still need it.
If you want to deal with that search box yourself, then download the menu 'fixed header dropdown nav' from my sharing site and read the bit about the search box below the image. That one is ok.

I'm in no hurry, any help would be appreciated.

Geologist's question: Can I copy and paste your code into my project or must I code it myself?
