Here is a link to the server requirements, in case your ISP gives you their specs.

Thanks. Ah, it's not empty. I was hoping to get a look at the .htaccess file. Can you see it in there? If so, what is the file size?

Would you like me to empty that folder? I just put up a dummy index.php file.

I can see the .htaccess file in the folder...it is 233 bytes

Hmm. Is there also a .htpasswd file there, or in the main directory?

The compatibility test only checks to see if your server is running Apache. It does not check to see if your hosting provider supports .htaccess If you are sure you have configured the software correctly, double check with your hosting provider that they support .htaccess

Spinny...the .htpasswd file is in the main directory

Thanks Scott....I have tried this on two different ISP's with no luck. I am sure I am missing something

I'm stumped. If all the files are where they should be the answer would seem to be neither host provider supports it. Like Scott said, you should check with them and make sure.

I will call and see what I can find out....one of them is godaddy.com and I would think that they support all of the necessary pieces.

I called GoDaddy and got it to work...they told me it simply might take an hour for the change to take effect. However, I was really hoping that I could get it going on the other ISP. I will call them....plus I also have a question into CoffeeCup and maybe they can see something.

thakns for all your help!
