iPad

Please bear with me on this one if it is naive question: I have been strictly PC and Windows all my life, and as my laptop needs replaced am thinking of an iPad with detachable keyboard. I use Coffeecup HTML editor extensively whilst travelling to maintain my web sites, so if I download the version of it for MAC OS (Orangina) from this site, will it run OK on iPad and let me do all the same stuff? Same would go for FTP. Many thanks.

Hiya Tom,

The IPad is not "installable" as far as software that isn't within the internal App Store, so that answer would be no, you cannot do what you want to do there. CoffeeCup at this time does not have any "tablet app" type software, only actual software programs that get manually installed onto a computer. If you're thinking to replace your Laptop, I would highly suggest another Laptop instead of an Ipad so you can continue using the CoffeeCup as well as other software products.

Jo Ann, Thanks for the info. I already have an iPad Mini so I was wondering if Coffee Cup has any plans to write for it in the future? I miss my Coffee Cup when I'm on the road. Thanks!

As Eric once said, when I moved from Windows to Mac, "now you have gone over to the dark side...."
I use a Mac with Web Editor for IOS, but it is not the same animal as the Windows HTML Editor and its companion programs. You have been advised correctly that iPad cannot run the Web Editor, so if you can manage it, get a Windows laptop, or hope the good people at CC come up with some great updates for the IOS app.

I would also like to se an iPad version of the editor. I travel with a work laptop and cannot load additional software to it. I don't travel with two laptops, but I do travel with the one laptop and my iPad.

C'mon guys, you *know* you're the best.... an iPad app would make us love you just that much more! ;)

I really do hope you can make it happen!

We have no plans at this time to create any application for the iPad/iPhone.

I'm on Mac, and I have a friend who bought a small Mac Book laptop, as he wasn't willing to buy another Windows laptop to replace his dying one... He wasn't ready either to buy an iPad. But he knew I was a happy Mac owner, and knew about the softwares I use...

Well, he can now use new software he didn't know existed, except on my Mac  of course, but it's only after switching to his own Mac that he realized it.
