How do I copy and paste in Web...
I know, that's a question so simple it almost sounds crazy, right? I can't figure out how to do it. When I open up an .html file, or when I use the handle sample file that comes with Web Editor, I can highlight text, I can type new text, I can delete text, I can even paste text. But my "Edit" menu shows "Copy" greyed out. ("Cut" is also greyed out.)
I can go to a different program (TextEdit, Safari, Firefox, MS Word, whatever), highlight text, Edit -> Copy, and then go into Web Editor, position my cursor, and Edit -> Paste. No problem. My computer's clipboard is working just fine, but it's only working one way. HUH?

Specs: MacBook Air, Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, 4GB RAM, Web Editor 2.0 build 2836.
I'm not using Web editor, but what happens if you preview the page you're working on? Can you copy from the preview?
Hi! Thanks for chiming in! Good thought, but no. I can't select and copy text from either edit mode or preview mode. Yet I can paste text at all times. I am BAFFLED that paste from clipboard works, yet copy to clipboard doesn't work. I didn't even think that was something individual programs controlled; I thought Mac OS X handled that by itself.
Screenshot just now of the Coffee Cup sample HTML file (included with Web Editor). I have highlit the green text, yet I can't copy (or cut) it:
