HELLO, I'D LIKE THE "FIND/REPLACE" WINDOW TO BE INTEGRATED WITH A SHOW AND HIDE OPTION LIKE THE SIDEBAR.. I HATE FLOATING WINDOWS ;-)
Or the possibility to choose floating or interfaced ?! (one for each open document).

Also new Coda allows you to put sidebar on the right.. I've been hoping for ages that ALL software would allow for that.. most people are right-handed.. I think ?!!?... It's so weird being stuck in this whole left to right think/thing left over from the writing/paper-based paradigm.. after all these years of computing..

FTP upload of course..

PS: I also use Coda and Espresso.. I like all three. Your preview.. highlighting the code directly is the best of them all.

Code Highlighting Issue...

One thing that annoys me the most s when the code highlighting always switches to the first css file you have on your head section. Would be nice to implicate that from happening and stay on the css file you are currently using. I always put my reset.css file first of course, then my style.css follows but I do like when I click in the preview window to take me a a certain place in my code and cc file but then it switches my css file to the first one on my head section.

Does anybody know if this will be fixed or addressed in the final or next beat release?

@ Ian i just got Coda 2 as well for it's javascript support but I really love Web Editor. I strongly believe Web editor has the potential to beat all other editors out there.

*One more thing I have notice there is a difference between font size displaying on the preview window and actual browsers. Font size will display smaller in preview and its actually larger in all browsers.

Suggestion...

Can i suggest automatically adding it's width and height to the image drag and drop feature?

What does everyone else think about this?

after playing with web editor I also noticed that with the auto complete for the <img>, linking css files, and when drag and dropping images the auto complete code does not end the tags with />. Which causes your code to fail the html validator.

I rechecked my code in w3c and they finally updated they HTML5 validation. My code not longer fails if my image tag are not closed accord to the xhtml way "/>"

still would be handy for web editor to know if you are working in xhtml and properly close all tags with "/>" that require it.

Jason, if you put the code into the HTML file and do not check it and it fails the HTML Validation it is therefor your mistake. The Editor is a tool, the Web Designer its master. You tell it what to do, not it you.

I Agree SirAGE... Good advice.

I had the right markup. I was using HTML 5 mark-up and not adding the "/" to the end of my IMG tags, but the validation was failing my code. I re-ran my code couple weeks later and this time it passed. I did not change anything in my code. So I assume the Validator was recently updated with more HTML5 mark up.

I like to take pride in my code passing Validation. As I have really studied HTML & CSS lately, I have learned to stop taking short cut and respect web design and do things right.

Is anybody else having the same issue with the css files jumping around in the editor when clicking in the preview window?

I believe that is a feature in the Mac version where you can find the CSS associated with the preview pane. So click in the Preview pane and it takes you to the CSS related to the section you clicked... \

Us Windows users are still waiting on that option... :(

Are there any plans on adding an HTML and CSS validator to Web Editor?

I still wish that you could make your Web Editors where you could seemlessly switch between WYSIWYG and CODE. And...... wherever you placed the cursor in each would be the same place the cursor is at when you go to the other view.
I have looked at just about every Editor that is made for the MAC. I'm somewhat lazy, and like to edit in WYSISYG, and fine edit in the Code Editor. For the price, almost nothing compares with the Microsoft Expression Web there. Now, when it comes to MAC, there isn't ANYTHING available in the price range. The only thing that comes close is the Kompozer which is Free, but they haven't released another version in about 3 years, or so.
So, Dreamweaver is there for several hundred dollars, and otherwise, the market is wide open in between because everything else falls short in features.
Don't know why CC don't go after this market. I would think that your Coder expertise should be able to handle something like this.
I love all your other products..... just not the Web Editor, or HTML editor.
