I used CC FTP and renamed the verify.txt to google-site-verification: google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html as a last desperate action, as expected, it didn't work. I can't upload
google-site-verification: google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html
to my server via IE.

As for the mega tag:
I tried
<meta name="google-site-verification" content="isutp10TIVR5hO0UGFm1e3sbjmJNosQtf5HWfHUWzDE" />
by placing it in my CCSC home page. Google did not recognize it. Before CCSC added the ability to add a footnote I added my email address to some page using the XML editor. What is the page in my CCSC?

You may have to contact Google then for some help there. I followed those steps on quite a few Websites and I never had any issues. However, I don't think you did it correctly because I get a 404 when I go to http://www.myneatstuff.com/google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html

I have never tried in in SCC directly, but it may work if you add it to the footer, but I am not quite sure.

Before I renamed verify.txt the http address worked so I changed it bac, try again. http://www.myneatstuff.com/verify.txt Must be something very basic.

The footer didn't work with the mega tag, one of the first things I tried.

I still get a 404 when I go to http://www.myneatstuff.com/google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html

http://www.myneatstuff.com/google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html

got this:
google-site-verification: google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html

And I was successfully verified by Google. I thought Google would be looking for something internal when opening http://www.myneatstuff.com/google6ba2bfd12f1c6415.html.
Now I have to do a site reconsideration before I can submit my site. Tomorrow is another day so to be continued after I close my booth here at the market.

Thanks for the help, CC's CS rocks!

It would have been helpful if Google would spell out each step in greater detail. When I wrote instructions for my 4GL programs I'll have my boss try it. If he could follow my step by step directions, anyone could.

I poked around Google Webmaster and am now submitted. Scott, too bad I wasn't a Pro beta tester, I can stress test any system. I know just enough to be dangerous.

Again, thanks for your help.

I knew you could do it! :)

Isn't is funny how instructions can be read and interpreted differently by people. I know it has always been a challenge for us when writing documentation and articles making it so that everyone can follow things. Add to that different cultures and languages, it can make things very interesting. ;)

I'll bet it's a real challenge. Well, I'm off to a long hot shower, the high point of my day, and back to the market in the morning. I'm at Cloud's Jamboree in Laughlin, NV. Business is really down but I'm ever the optimist.

Thanks again, BTW, do you ever sleep?
