I'm also noticing the lag. 4-10 seconds between each selection on the canvas. I didn't try the element tree option. When I started using SD there was no lag, but as time went on I noticed the QT* thing expanding in size.

The "QTwebengineproccess.exe" is the largest consumer of memory out of all my apps. Site designer is not too bad. I do believe that the QT* is what is used to create the gui and more that SD relies on.
please see the attached file.

Also, the canvas I was working on was just a header, list container and some paragraphs.

Oh, and Mac Book checked. I don't find it laggy. I opened a large file, but the focus shifted swiftly from one element to another. Also when dragging the viewport by that handle. And the font sizes don't jump about when changing them.

BUT, the thing that Bill found, that you have to go via another unit first to be able to select a pixel gap in the Grid editor, is also an issue on my Mac Book.

Hi Inger there are a multitude of things that are wrong not just the laggy issue
One that I'm emidiately springs to mind is the reveal element
1/ the selecting of elements in an open reveal was so difficult the new fangled ciuloured outline just didn't work the little thingies that are supposed to appear don't then when one finally got to select an element as one moved the cursor towards the elements tree it would automatically select any element that the mouse passed over so by the time you got to the elements tree urge one you wanted has gone from being selected if one tried doing it from the inspector was impossible
There were many other small things that when put together as a bunch made the while updated version a bit of a let down to say the least.

Hope you and everyone having a good decade so far

Hi Inger,

CC is going to send out free laptops on the next edition of SiteDesigner 5. May not be available in your area. May cause blindness, excessive hair growth etc!

We are still looking for a solution.

Looks like they are in need of a website: http://www.ashtreeinn.co.uk

I'll boot up my MacBook and check the lagginess of SD, just gimme some time...

Yes that's the place but it's 30 years since I frequented the place it couldn't possibly be the same landlady. I don't have Facebook so not able to see what's there.

Oh really, Mine is crashing solid with only task manger to kill it. It still has a incremental memory problem in the QT5 engine.
