OK, I see. How is it if you are, say, in the elements tree and have some element selected, and then go on to select another element? Does the marker change position right away, or is that also a bit laggy?

Laggy isn't anywhere near the word. It is almost impossible not only that but when one tries to move the selected element the whole thing goes crazy jumping up and down like a cat on a hot tin roof. It also is laggy when selecting a different element on that bottom menu thingy. The when selecting things for styling for example changing font size or widths etc oh and that jumping about when trying to change font size is back with a vengeance. All in all for me it's like going back in time.

Now I am no expert here but with the new clean install I haven't put anti virus yet to test Adrian. theory which looked like it could be a solution it was still doing it so I checked Windows defender and low and behold it wasn't allowing SD through. Now it is working great again but previously I had or so I thought defender turned off maybe not I will now install the anti virus turn off defender and see what happens

I have also noticed that the jumping when changing font size is back, and I reported it a couple of days ago. And I asked about the moving from one element to another in the elements tree because I also had noticed that.
I often report things to the staff on behalf of others, but since I'm at home in Norway now with a sturdy internet connection, I don't have any problems with login not being accepted or anything regarding the validating or licensing, so those of you who have such problems ought to contact support and describe them yourselves, as you will know better than me how that works (well, actually does NOT work).
I for, once, have never had any issues with any of the CC apps having to be especially allowed to get through Defender. There was once some issue with McAffee, but that was solved ages ago (at least 10 years ago).

The reason why SD is laggy at startup may perhaps partly be because all the themes and the components having been put back, and probably also the process of verifying the users's license. This is just a guess of mine, though.

I have reported it with no response as yet. The app is working great again now that I allowed it through the firewall will see how it performs when I'm home offline

That is interesting, what you are saying about the firewall. I've had no need for that, so I wouldn't have known.
I think they are having this week off at CC, but I guess support will be up'n running again after January 1st.

Well, that didn't last long & now all components gone, not that it matters too much about the coffee cup ones, but I had a lot of my own in there.

This is getting to be a drag and an expensive update

Hi Wayan,

So sorry to hear you lost your components, try this data recovery Easus software to get them back, I think they have a free trail.

https://www.easeus.com

Here is the folder the components are in:

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software\Site Designer\Components

Hope your able to get them back

P.S. I got a 256GB usb drive and use the built in Windows File History and added the Components folder to the backup.

Hi Warren
Thanks for info but I already know where everything is and it isn't that important to me for the components as I can make any I may need again. Mostly my main concern is the slowing down lack of respondlng which gets worse hour by hour until it virtually stops altogether.
