Did you get my reply to your other support ticket this morning David?

Well, the most noticeable issue I've found thus far is the truncation of posts when importing an RSS feed. See here http://my.coffeecup.com/stream/ and you'll notice the [...] after about four or five lines. Now, check here http://digicave.org/ and see the same posts. Is there some limit to the amount of characters for Stream posts? Admittedly, I didn't read the S-Drive page top to bottom, I just expect things to work, teehee.

It would be great to add a track back url.

"Track back" means a lot of things to different people. What exactly are you thinking of? We have some things in development, so it may be almost here already. :)

Jeff noticed that if you look at http://digicave.org/feed/rss/ it is truncated there as well. I know they are working on tweaks to the system that pull data from known blog formats. For now we are just pulling straight from RSS feeds.

I am not a beta tester but have been waiting to hear more about S-Drive.

Could one of you testers give us the lowdown on some of the things you can do with S-Drive. I am very interested in the Hosting and FTP end of the software that I have heard about.

Thanks

The originating url of the feed.

I get that, but how do you see that being implemented? Would you like to see the original link added to the bottom of the post in the Stream, or just as an overall link?

Beware that having duplicate content in several places is generally frowned upon by search engines and visitors alike.

You are a beta tester. That's how you're in this forum. ;)

You can setup your S-Drive site here. Once you set it up, let us know if you have any questions.

The orig. URL of the feed would be at the bottom of the post.
I know this is a big ouch on Google these days, but if I am posting feeds or importing post, a lot of my traffic will be coming from fb, twitter, email, etc. anyways.

The import from feed functionality was designed as a way for you to move your content to your Stream one time to get started, not as a repeated process. Of course, you could use it that way, but it will import all the content each time.

The idea is that you could use Stream to replace your current blog so that content would be easier to embed in your site (or elsewhere). Stream will become more and more powerful as we develop it, and your suggestions will help immensely. So I'll add this to the wishlist, and we'll see what happens.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
