Venturing forth, from 1.5 to...

Well I now have 2.5 basically set up, and am putting a toe in the water today. I'm using the template that was passed on to me, by a friend here. I plan on getting rid of that social media icons panel on top, but will probably keep the space holder there, or move something more worthy for SEO into it. I also plan on replacing the stuff below the photo and working my current nav stuff into that nice neat nav strip on top. I mostly want this for the structure it offers, instead of my mess from not knowing what I was doing, with my current site at https://denverprocessservers.net/ But I like what the current site does and says - I just want the responsive and professional looking structure that this template offers.

I AM however baffled by the orbital picture thing, and have been ALL DAY. I have two of my own photos that I'd like to rotate through there, and like the idea of the thing, but have NO IDEA how to work with it yet.

Orbit is the Foundation framework's slideshow. I haven't used it, so I can't advise you about it. However, I like the video and written instructions that Zurb's (the maker of Foundation) web site. Here's a link to it.

Thanks Brian, but I don't need to get into all the code background - just how to add, change and remove some of the photos in 2.5.

Cheers Brian for the link. I wondered if you knew if the fade in fade out attribute can be applied as it does not seem to work on SD3 but the others do. Apologies this is off topic. Kind regards Phil

Well good news. I did some searching here and found

https://www.coffeecup.com/forums/respon … -tutorial/

Which led to http://gordw.com/rsd/orbit.html

which helped me figure out how to reduce my images from the template's 4, to 2, and put the images I wanted in there. It works now, in the preview screen on Chrome, anyway. :-)

I just uploaded what I have so far, to https://denverprocessservers.net/test and it's messed up. The photo orbit thing is not responsive at all - it's a thin little line.

Fade in Fade out doesn't work in Orbit,,
You could do some custom css though that you can apply to make it fadein

That is a known error in Orbit Melissa (which is one of the reasons Foundation removed the orbit component from the list some time ago, but then they brought it back

There is a fix which you have to place in the header of the page where the orbit component is

<style>
/* ORBIT CSS REPAIR for INITIAL LOAD */
ul.orbit-container {
height: auto !important;
}
li.orbit-slide {
max-height: none !important;
}
</style>

at the lower sizes, you haven't pointed the images to the actual images,

and at large screen sizes, the images in the slider are HUGE, they take up more than the height of the devices,
