I did a quick website for my wife. Right now it is mostly a one-page site (there is a separate contact page however), but may evolve into more later on . . .

http://www.cathycutspaper.com/index.html

I'm still tweaking it and looking for errors to fix, but thought it was good enough to show the concept. This is my first time using fixed background photos (in 3 places). That was kinda fun. Shows up great on desktop browsers, but the photos scroll on my android tablet, which I hear is normal. I'm wishing they'd do an update on that.

Thanks for taking a look. Did I mention that RSD rocks! There is no way I could have done a nice responsive site that quickly and easily any other way! Only spent part of a day on it so far.

p.s. click on the Contact Me button at the bottom to go to the second page.

Here is my new site: http://www.jmarshamichler.com
It took a bit to get the hang of RSD, but I finally got the site up and would like some feedback as to whether it needs anything changed or done differently. I tried to simplify things for myself, making it one-page and using rows instead of columns for my ebooks. I found that columns created difficulties when I did the breakpoints. They just would not behave. (I'm wondering if the new Flexbox software will do better at that). I'm also going to add a photo gallery, so the site isn't really finished yet. The RSD has been fun to use, it's a Dreamweaver replacement for me :)

Very nice and simple website. I like the color scheme you chose, very soft colors. Seems to flow nice. Very Simple layout, nicely done.
Taking over the world one website at a time!

Thanks for the kind words, paintbrush. Do you think I could use flexbox to put more than one image in a row? It sounds like it would be good for that.

Bill

I came across your post and reviewed your website while investigating aspects of RSD for one of my several websites.
I am the author of a post WWII historical novel which is dedicated to WWII veterans. I would be happy to place a link of your father's story on my web site. Go to http://deathwatchbeetle.net Take a look and let me know.
I survived the London blitz and my wife lived under Nazi occupation in France. We just celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary which could not have happened without the sacrifice of people like your father. Happy New Year

I like the color scheme and overall design.
On my Iphone 4s the page loads with the header background of the flowers taking up almost the whole screen. It seems like content is missing. People may not think to scroll so I would reduce the height of that at lower screen sizes.
For me the paragraphs are tall and skinny being next to the images. I wonder if it would be better to float those so the images are directly above the p.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks, The base is the theme coffeecup supplied but the rest has a bunch of jQuery accordion and Colorbox. I still have more crops and images to link but it's so simple to apply the needed classes directly through RSD. I only have one HTML element on the page and that's for the form. I did no outside alterations. I know some VSD users are having a problem coimg up to speed on RSD but once you mess with it you'll find out that it's so much more powerful then VSD ever wanted to be.

i designed a site http://www.phoenixhealthinstitute.com/ but in the cell phone size it looks awful. The customer wanted each page to start out with images, so in the future, those images will change. I need some best practice guidance for sure!

I think I wrote to you in a different forum here, that the customer is not always right. If your customer wants to have the same oversized 'head' on each page, with nothing of the actual page specific contents showing unless you scroll down, visitors to the site might think that every page is the same and just like any old advert. Your customer needs to be educated, or else the site, which is otherwise nice looking, will bring her no new business.
(I once had a customer, a furniture producer, that wanted the same kind of head, then after a year came complaining that nobody visited the site for more than a couple of seconds. When I changed things around so that the real contents came 'above the fold', the business made a dart upwards. Just saying.)
Ha en riktig god dag!
