Thanks Inger that worked.

Now in order to use the file is something that I now import as a component?

Thanks?

Actually, can't use it. I opened it and it gives me an error saying it was created with a newer version of bootstrap than what I have. I am not sure how to open it in site designer.

Thanks Inger. I opened it in site designer but that's a different menu than I saw on your sharing page.

The menu I was looking at was this https://www.eikweb.com/sharing/simple-menu/index.html

And was hoping there would be a way to edit it and use a three line hamburger menu instead of the real hamburger...

The download wasn't working in my chrome browser. It did download using firefox... Got it and will mess around editing it.

Thanks again

Jonathan, the menu you are interested in is not for Bootstrap, but for Foundation. Since the file you posted was created with Bootstrap in either RBB or RSD version 2.5, that is why I recommended the menu I posted to you. Changing the hamburger for those three lines is not a problem.
Please let me know which frame work you want to use, and with which programme and version. If you have Site Designer (SD) 3.5, you should use that, and then the menu samples in the 2nd column on my sharing site would be the ones to look at. Bootstrap building blocks have '(BS)' after their names, and the 3rd or 4th menu from the top might be of interest.
If you need help to change a menu to fit your needs, I can help, but not before June 1st, as I'm on holiday now and don't have a sturdy enough internet access - and no peace around my head either. There will also be other Bootstrap users in the forum who will be able to help.

Ok Inger,

I hope this is the last time I will bother you. This program is really frustrating... Things that should be simple are not.

As I mentioned, I was able to down load the correct menu in firefox.

https://www.eikweb.com/sharing/simple-menu/index.html

I opened it in Site Designer and proceeded to edit some things.

Changed the font icon, edited the color of the text links and submenu links.

Using the instruction you have on the menu, I saved it as a component.

At this point you'd think all is good. EEERRRRRR

1. When I open the menu in preview or when I export it, it is still the same colors as before, not the new colors I changed it to. I have searched up and down the design panel and looked at every text link with the inspector to look for other color changes and do not see any.

2. As I mentioned I saved it as a component. However, when I open my other project the component is not there.
I try to copy and past the row/column into the other project and that does not work either.

I did just find in a forum that you can not save a component from bootstrap to foundation so that may be the issue but then I opened a new canvas in foundation to check there and the component is also not there.

I am not sure how to save the component so it can then be used in other projects.

I have tried to export the component, it says I must be logged in, I click log in and it takes me to settings window with no place to log in.

I was able to save as a theme and I guess I can redo my project as a foundation layout instead of the bootstrap but would be nice to have it as a component and I still need to change the text color.

3. Last, if possible, I would love for this menu to be centered or to the right and can not figure out how to move it.

Inger,

I posted this before I saw your response. I am learning little by little but couldn't tell you even what the difference is in between bootstrap or foundation. I've only just begun the project and could uses whichever one is better. I could redo the bootstrap project on foundation if I need to..

I have site designer 2.5 build 2425

Being that your on holiday though I do not want to bother you with these issues.

If you were changing over to Foundation, you would have a handful more helpers among the forum people. Wayan, for starters, who knows very well what he is doing. It's up to you. But with me, you'll have to wait until June 1st, as I said.
Good luck whatever you decide to do!.

So, I'm back home again. How far have you got with your sticky menu? Do you need further help?
